My synthetic bride was looking pale and cold, so I designed her this flaming dress of Black Dreams (on a Samhain night). Weaved of paper, glue, acrylics and gloss varnish.

Drawing done for me as a birthday gift earlier this year from Putrid

8' tall "thumbs down" vinyl tapestry/tarp that I got from an exhibition of the artists work at the Getty Center in L.A. a few years ago for only $50. It's double sided and about 1/4" inch thick. Really ties the room together.

It's a detail of "Pollice Verso" (Thumbs Down) by Jean-Léon Gérôme.

Yes, I know it's only a detail. I got to see the entire original painting, as well as Gerome's other works at the exhibit. For only $50 and 8 feet tall, I'm happy with just the detail but it would be amazing to have the full piece!

The reverse side of my detail shows more of the right hand side of the painting, with the "fates".

Yeah, I just wanted to show a picture of the full painting with the title. And I agree, 50$ is a really good price.

She's been experimenting with Victorian-era photography and is basically making photos on fabric - sensitizing antique linen, silk, canvas, etc. with various chemicals and exposing them in sunlight, then painting / embroidering the result. Mostly the images are from things she's shot, but these are from anonymous antique family photos she's scanned and turned into negatives.
