I'm looking for stuff similar to Osculum Infame up until "Dor-Nu-Fauglith."

There's only a handful of albums I'd say come close; "Totem," "Moon In the Scorpio" and early Abigor, especially "Supreme Immortal Art." Some LLN stuff fits the bill too.

The only modern band I know of that sounds like this is Bekth Nexhm.

Is there anything else out there that has this murky/dense vibe? With synth/keys on top it's just something else. Reminds me of some early psych/prog rock gone black metal. Could just be the production making me say that...

Better than I remember Troll being, from the samples I'm listening to. Not quite the same vibe as what I listed.

If you like Osculum Infame have you tried Desolation Triumphalis ? The Keyboards are not as much important as they are in Dor Nu Fauglith, but still...

I'm not familiar with Osculum Infame, the first thing to come to mind is Kataxu. But you probably already know it.

First thing that came into my mind upon reading thread title was Osculum Infame...

I assume you know Infernum? Especially second album (Farewell) has some similiriaties with Osculum Infame

Other than that, try Ormgard.

I guess opinions differ. I never considered O.I. to sound murky. Gehenna "First Spell" or Behemoth "The Return of the Northern Moon" and "...From the Pagan Vastlands" is what I consider 'murky'.

I also recommend Old Man's Child "In the shades of life" demo, some Thy Serpent stuff and maybe even Carpathian Forest "Through Chasm, Caves and Titan Woods" EP.

How did I forget Infernum! That CF EP fits too. I'll revisit early Behemoth and Gehenna. Thy Serpent has been on my radar for years, never listened though.

Draugurz

Check this out, it's really good murky black metal with synth just as you described. Listen to when the synth comes in at 00:57. Perfect.
