The term perfect seems to be hard to define. If it means flawless then I wonder why the fuck people mention Blood Fire Death. There are many flaws.
Especially that fucking Teachers pet melody on Pace 'til Death, the terrible build up after the chorus in the title track(around 4:25?) and a solo in Golden Walls On Heaven like 2 minutes that is far from perfect.
Isn't this the kind of things that should be counted when you call albums perfect.
I mean, BFD is probably my favourite Bathory record. A classic within the genre. But is it perfect? Fuck no.
Perfect is not a rating.

I think its pretty likely many people rate BFD "perfect" on the strength of A Fine Day To Die alone, most of the rest of the album isn't anywhere near as good. Holocaust and a couple others are great though and of course AFDTD is one of the greatest Bathory tunes. For me the perfect Bathory album would have to be UTSOTBM or Hammerheart, can't choose.

Esoteric - The maniacal vale

I'm listening to their song 'Circle' on youtube for the first time, and I'm really impessed by what I'm hearing right now. I'll certainly give The Maniacal Vale a good listen today.

Onward to Golgotha
Hvis Lyset Tar Oss
The Celtic Winter
The Return
Pure Holocaust
Beneath the Remains
Show No Mercy
Kill em' All

My idea of 'perfection' is the album is consistantly good all the way through and has no moments of tedium even after lots of listens, no note out of place and is suitably produced, I guess these ones fit into that criterea.
There are many albums with flaws that I enjoy listening to just as much as these ones though.

There is not one moment on The Cure - Pornography that I would change. That record is beyond bleak.

Thergothon - Stream From The Heavens and the demo are without a flaw. 100 perfect perfection!

Horror of the zombies by Impetigo.
Symphonies of sickness by Carcass.
Agents of Oblvion by Agents of Oblivion.
Trout Mask Replica by Captain BeefheArt.
Nevermind by Nirvana.

(Just trying not to mention the obvious slayer and merciful fate albums)

Satyricon - Rebel Extravaganza

This to me is a perfect album, have listened to this from end to end perhaps more than any other album I have ever owned.

Mercyful Fate - Don't Break The Oath
Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Thorns - s/t
Emperor - In The Nightside Eclipse
Deathspell Omega - Si Monumentem Requires, Circumspice

I forgot to mention Gang of Four "Entertainment" and Dead Can Dance "Into the Labyrinth". Not a single note out of place on either, definitely perfect and beyond reproach to my ears.
