Am I better off tracking down all of the original RoadRacer/RC versions or buying the 2000's versions for far less $?

Any major difference in sounds quality?
Layout etc?

I've been on a KD/MF kick lately.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure you can get the Roadrunner/racer KD versions for less than the reissues. Probably the MFs as well.

Some of the reish's have bonus tracks which fuck up the OG side splits. Go for the OGs.

those reissues on cargo are bullshit. Low quality cover reprint without booklet, fucked up track listing because they kept the bonus tracks and copied from CD so it sounds super low and shitty.

Originals. Most of them are still available for a fair price.

Originals are going to run you between 35-65 dollars. Ebay might be your best bet, if you can snag a deal.

a experienced person with a brain would purchase the original issue of ANY record because:

A. it is cut from the original Master tape.
B. layout is displayed as originally intended.
C. You SHOULD have a brain and understand these things without anyone having to "inform" you.

It's a shame that prices are driven up over recent years by interest in LPs/metal. I ended up with a sealed megaforce Melissa for like 15 bucks 5 or 6 years ago. Yeah, its a US press, not an "original" but that version if selling for 2-3 times that on eBay now

Heh, to top that all 3 Fate lp's I have (The Beginning, Melissa, Don't Break the Oath) I got for around $5 out of used bins 10-12 years ago.

One of the best Heavy Metal release ever done! I only have the original cd version, is there any booklet in the original LP?

Sometimes re-issues can sound better.
Sometimes re-issues have extra tracks.
Sometimes re-issues can be found for far less money.
Sometimes re-issues have different liner notes etc.

Plenty of reasons to inquire.

My brain works just fine Lino.

Thanks to the rest of you.

I'm a sucker when it comes to KD/MF and I buy whatever I can afford. I even make exceptions when it comes to bootlegs and buy them as well.

But I don't understand why so many albums are being re-issued and sold for such high prices when the originals can be found for $5 or $6. Twisted Sister and Accept are good examples. 22 EUR for "Metal Heart" re-issue just because it's limited to 300 copies? With shipping it will cost close to if not more than $50!!

I do buy some re-issues but most of the time I prefer spending a bit more and finding the original pressing.

Also I noticed that MF has been bootlegged on yellow wax by someone. I think I've seen "Don't Break the Oath" for 25 EUR in some distro. I'm sure that for this price you can find '80's pressing in very good condition on eBay.

I buy the Fatal Portrait's bootleg somewhere and sound just fine. I'm pretty happy with it.
