I'm looking for martial music (doesnt have to be martial industrial specifically) with REAL instruments instead of shitty vst plugins. No laptops/digital bullshit.

Anybody know any good bands? Cheers

Ianva, even if they may be more in the realm of classy neofolk/folk rock. Strong fighting spirit there. It's really a small orchestra rather than just a band. Huge Enrico Morricone influence especially in the brass section.

Two Steps From Hell would be an obvious choice too. Has nothing to do with martial industrial but pretty sure it's exactly how every "martial" band would want to sound like.

The Protagonist - Songs of Experience
Gaë Bolg and the Church of Fand

As a side note, a common practice among martial artists is to rip loops from existing recordings of orchestral music. So a lot of what you would hear on Triarii or Arditi albums actually is a real orchestra, not a plugin or a sample library like Vienna or EWQL.
