Any fans?

I have PINK, and am kinda iffy on it - I really, really like their slower stuff ala' 'Farewell' from PINK, but I am indifferent to the more upbeat rock type stuff.

I also just downloaded 'Dronevil' and 'Akuma no Uta,' both of which so far are more to my liking.

Saw them in Atlanta last week, and as I thought - the slower, drone/doom stuff killed!

So, out of their 8345875 releases, which is more to this style/direction?

I don't think you'll find too many fans here (or at least those willing to admit it).
Absolutego and Amplifier Worship are both really Droney/Doomy though. Probably their "heaviest" albums.

yeah, i like boris. i saw them maybe 3 or 4 years ago in colombus. their rock stuff is kind of silly. for heavier things, i would recommend "Absolutego" and they did a collaboration with Merzbow called "Sun Baked Snow Cave" thats fun to listen to in one sitting. i would imagine there's not too many boris fans on this board. ripping off venom and von logos is most certainly metal-blasphemy i agree.

duh, total disgust and hate towards them. I can't even see their nice post-barbie faces in a pic...

Amplifier Worship is probably the one you'd want to check out the most.

Absolutego is great too. Just know it's an hour long song.

I preferred the older stuff when they more were influenced by the Melvins and Earth.

Get "Feedbacker"! Other than that it's often "hit & miss"! Some of it is really great, no doubt! Also, except for "Roadburn" last year, which was pretty crap, they've always been kiler in a live setting!

I got amplifier worship back when it was released, when they dont have bashers and hipsters drooling over that big tittied chick with an ugly face. I think that's the only release I liked, though it's too long for my attention span, it's heavy and sludgy.

If you like the big-titted chick with ugly face, you can have it on a skateboard deck. Or the other 2 members. I didn't know Boris was a skate band.

I have some cd w/gummy worm inside. Not sure I ever gave it a listen.

absolutego is a doom classic, and feedbacker is incredible! i'm not so hot on their newer stoner rock material but it's still good.

i love their early doom / noise music!

Her tits aren't that big.

I'm OK with Boris, I kind of enjoy "Pink," "Smile," and "Akuma No Uta." Not into their drone stuff but I'm not really into drone in general. The albums I do like barely seem like metal to me, more like noisy punk and post-rock. I listen to them occasionally but not when I'm in a metal mood.

I like their Melvins-worship stuff like the 1995 Demo, split with Barebones and Amplifier Worship. They were once a pretty damn heavy band, no matter how silly they've become overtime. I also like some of their noisier stuff, but the up-beat pop rock shit is just awful. I really, really, really hate that stuff.

I love Boris and own most of thier recordings. As far as being called a hipster, that's cool. The guitar player is probably (an AA 32) instead of the russ meyer tits you described) I think she is very attractive. Perhaps that is another factor in my worship for the band. Inspired by her I got into anime and all things Japanese. I now own every Kurosawas movie, every anime book ever made and no one enters my house without removing their shoes. For us humans it's convienent to lump people in groups. I look at Phish fans and think they are "hippy scum", so I am guilty as well. I was wearing a blapshemy F.A.O.D. shirt on campus a week ago and a kid told me he liked the archer design, and asked If I played Dungeons and dragons. It's all relative.
