No deathmetal on this album, only tough guy hardcore.

Pure brutal Death doom with raw/pissed off screams!

But yes, great band. One of the best. Maybe my favorite Death Metal band a long with the mighty Morbid Angel, Autopsy and Immolation Cool

I remember buying The Rack on cassette when it came out. A long time ago. School Kid's Records and Movies. When "Vermin" kicked in I was sold.

One of my favourite bands ever. Martin's voice combined with Eric/Paul's riffs and Bob's killer primitive drums, doesn't get much better than that. Too bad Bob has left the band.
I believe I read that they were busy writing/recording stuff somewhere? If the new album will be just as good as their two albums since the reunion, it will be a must-have.
What do people think of On the Wings of Inferno and Feeding on Angels? I think both are fantastic, very underrated albums. Top notch Death/Doom (with a little bit of Black in the Soulburn album).

I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this but Theo>Martin. IMO Martin is great at what he does but Theo just has that truly morbid and disgusted vocal style that really made Embrace the Death stand out the most to me.

I agree completely. That album and that vocal performance are untouchable. I love Van Drunen too, but he fits Pestilence a shade better than Asphyx, IMO.

On the Wings of Inferno is underrated. Ripping dark Death Metal.

Agreed. I don't think Asphyx made a bad album.

Likewise. I like Swazafix - a lot actually - but "Embrace the Death" is one of my top 5 or 10 death metal albums.

Most consistent dm band ever.
