Metal Massacre 5 fuckin' rules!!! Very Happy

Hellhammer, Omen, Voi Vod, Overkill, fuck yeah!

CRUCIFIXION is STILL my favorite Hellhammer track! Very Happy I don't think I'd heard anything that heavy before I heard that (though Venom would have been the closest). Very Happy

When you're glad to finally score a major want..

.. only to find out that the actual record is scratched to shit so it constantly skips, which essentially renders it useless. Fuck!

Looks like a genuine mistake, but I'm not sure what happened. The cardboard envelope shows minor punctuation damage (on one side only) which did not go all the way through because there is no visible damage on the inside of the cardboard. The record sleeve also remained intact, but the plastic outer sleeve, the paper inner sleeve and obviously the vinyl record show signs of punctuation damage as well.

What's worse is that I paid for this record through Friends & Family, so I already went and said to myself 'just your luck, you fucking idiot' (yeah.. I know.. but the seller had a consistent 100% positive feedback over nearly 500 individual sales). Record was listed at VG+, no mention of any scratches, and these are obviously the ones you simply cannot overlook.

Fortunately the seller was very helpful and understanding. I sent him a message explaining that I understood I processed the F&F payment in good faith and I'm sure he would not have deliberately sold me an unplayable record, hoping he'd be willing to work something out anyway. He basically was like 'oh fuck, I'm sure the damage wasn't there when I shipped it, no idea what happened but here's the money back and just keep the record as well'.

I would have done the same myself but I'm pretty sure quite a lot of other sellers would rather choose to ignore the situation due to lack of Discogs / PayPal support. "Oopsy there, don't think I received your e-mail, no.."

Not a strange reaction if he wants to keep his 100% positive feedback.

No, we did a private sale outside of Discogs. I messaged him for pictures (which he sent, but I just noticed that it was a picture from the Agathocles side, which is undamaged). Made him an offer through e-mail afterwards, so there was no Discogs involvement. He could have easily said 'well, not my problem, figure it out'..
