You know that certain album or band that you really thought that you would like but left you with nothing.

Molested was a band didn't actually hear until a few years ago. I remember alot of praise in old fanzines, forums etc. For some reason I imagined something close to early Aeternus but when I heard the album and the demos it didn't do anything for me. Just mediocre death metal!

Dorsal Atlântica is also one of these bands. I recently heard their "Antes do Fim" that alot of people praised during the years. Sure it's ok stuff but nothing compared to early Sarcofago, Sepultura, Vulcano etc. Is this really supposed to be their best release?

That's the problem, you went in imagining their sound to be something else instead of soaking it up for what it is... they are unique, moss-covered, ancient druid death metal and are perfect by my ears.

Cosmic Church.

Judging by what people said about them and their artwork, and even the bands name it's self I thought I would really like them. Ended up boring me to tears. I've tried time and time again to see if it would grow on me, but nothing....

With that being said I have Arcana trilogy and both full length LPs I would sell for the right price.

All Black metal released after 1996.

Everybody talked a good one but nobody could deliver the goods.

That is probably because there is nothing there but mediocrity

Teitanblood and Necros Christos. Unreal amounts of hype, incredible debut albums that actually lived up to the hype, but then...meh.

Teitanblood managed to get one good track out after their debut though.

Grave Miasma was another big one. Nothing they put out ever did a thing for me other than the Goat Molestor demo.

I usually echo your thoughts about most stuff on here, but I couldn't disagree with you more on these two!
"Death" is fucking great. They refined their approach a bit, got rid of the meandering bits for the most part and simply kicked my ass.
And the Grave Miasma full length surpassed my expectations. It's not an immediate album, but once it locks into you, it's awesome.

Dismember's entire discography after Like an ever flowing stream, minus one or two songs per album or so.

Bolt Thrower sans Realm of Chaos and In Battle there is no Law

Gorgut's entire career from Considered dead to Erosion, was technically sound but did nothing to stir my thoughts or make me enjoy it

Carpathian Forest's material.

Sabbat Japan's material is solid, but does nothing for me in comparison to Sigh

Mayhem

yes, throw with buckets of shit in my ears but never liked this particular band, not a single song in any period of my life. tried for many times to make them grow, like Abigor needed to at least like their strange complex vision but not fully enjoying. no chance with Mayhem! Evil or Very Mad

another thread of thousand contrasting tastes

anyhow, I would say: Necros Christos, Blut aus Nord, Darkspace for me... plus a few others I don't remember atm.

Far to consider those bands bad and I'm not considering the rating... simply no big emotions arose in me while many others were falling on their knees
