A friend and I are thinking about contacting Osmose regarding a license to re-release both Tsatthoggua albums + the Siegeswille demo on vinyl - before we start taking all of the necessary steps to do this, we were just wondering how many people would actually be interested?

Being total TSATTHOGGUA worshippers ourselves, we mainly just want to have our own personal copies, but we must, of course, make sure that we can at least break even with the production + licensing costs.

So, the question is : would you be interested, and if so : which album would you buy?

I would buy both in a heartbeat always loved this band and have been kinda hoping against hope something like this would happen. I've always gotten the impression that they don't have a reputable following but I wish you guys the best of luck and you can count on at least one purchase.

My two cents: This band was not popular back in the 1990ties and it's even less popular nowadays. If you want to release their albums on LP with the intention of actually SELLING each and every copy, then don't do it in the first place. If you want to release them just for having this music on vinyl for yourself regardless of the monetary aspect, then go ahead but make some space in the basement for storing the extra copies... Wink

Friends of mine have released Hödur (PL) "Salve Satanas" on LP last year, and they still have way to go until they have sold enough copies to be compensated for the money they have paid for the production, at the very least. And Hödur was sort of an "underground cult act" in the 1990ties, whereas I can't recall anyone having been into the music of Tsatthoggua at the time when they were around.

Yes, they were very underground back in the 90's - criminally under-rated! Now its finally time that they should get the vinyl treatment that they deserve!

This would definitely be a release purely for the sake of us at least having our own personal copies... Wink

Besides, I am sure that we could trade whatever copies that may be left over with other labels, so thats not such a big problem.

don't do it sean! they have always sucked, and always will. someone on here remarked rightfully that the best thing about them is their logo.
their S/M aesthetic was a complete failure as well, even though it could've been something to expand on for a BM band.

I'd say don't do it!

What a crap band that was. Why not re-release more bullshit like BELMEZ, for example?

A typical waste-product of the utterly substandard German mid-90s scene, don´t waste money and natural resources on this.

I might have been the one mentioning that their logo is the only nice thing about them. And yeah, that´s it, basically.

Shocked

Come on, Belmez is so weird it is good actually. Very Happy

But if someone wants to waste money on 1990ties "Black Metal" that ought to remain buried by time and dust, why not releasing Angizia?

Laughing That's not even Metal... Napalm released some crazy shit in the 1990ties, that's for certain.

@DTBRex:

Well, "weird" for sure, but those lyrics...this is the level of Eisregen. And thanks for bringing Angizia back to my mind, luckily I already forgot about that turd.
