I only have demo 3 and promo 97. The promo isn't nearly as good as the old demo. Are the later albums also only "ok"?

I totally worship the 1st Album which is Brilliant in my opinion. The 2nd has a weak sound, but good Tracks. The rest is boring.

@Mikael, sorry, I was confused. You´re right, no need for Bonus stuff on this Album.

1st Agatus gives me the same sort of feeling, but I'm not sure it fits the criteria

Thanks guys.
Odium (Nor) = underneath average, one good song, that's all.

I found the recent album by XENOPHOBIA Reclaiming Celtic Glory to remind me of SATYRICON's first disc.
For some reason, XIBALBA's Ah Dzam Poop Ek also reminds me of Dark Medieval Times.

I really have to check these. I do not know why I haven't checked more of Xibalba nowadays, because I can remember liking a demo of them a lot which I listened quite often in '99 with/from my ex-girlfriend back then (it was her demo-tape).

Listen to a copy of Great Horn - Trizna After Sunset Demo 1998. Maybe you like it
But I think the band is split up long time ago

Okay, thanks...

Most of these are older bands, but maybe some of them are at least a bit unknown:
Raate - Sielu, Linna
Isvind - Dark Waters Stir
Maligant Eternal - Tårnet
North - From The Dark Past
Sacrilegium - Witcher

Thanks. Isvind and Sacrilegium are both classics. Cannot wait for the vinyl version of "Wicher"...
The other ones I still have to check. I can remember not liking ME for a reason which I cannot remember yet exactly.

some more ideas, but not comparable to old Satyricon:
2nd Ancient Rites
1st Unpure
In Battle 1st and 2nd Album

Indeed, absolutely not comparable to Satyricon. Anciend Rites was never a fave of mine, exept for a few tracks (Singles, 1st album).
1st and 2nd Unpure are classics. I would love to see them on vinyl (maybe there is a chance to do it at any time in future).
I ever hated In Battle. Total boring shit...

Everything of UNPURE is killer. What Promo 97 your are talking about? Never heard about that. Their Promo 98 is killer and I also would love to see that on vinyl for its killer sound of the songs. The Split with Sabbat is als great. But really, the band always did suffer of weak and thin guitar sound, but their songs are always great...

Good stuff, but nothing I would compare to the first Satyricon album....

Yeah the first Unpure album is killer! The songs on the 2nd are also great, but the kick sound totally sucks. I recall that it was a mastering issue, though I'm pretty sure Demo #3 had a similar awful drum sound. Maybe remastering original tapes (if available) would resolve that sound.

Was listening to Trinity In Black recently and that album kicks ass too. Overkill rock 'n' roll BM.

Anyone releases any Unpure stuff on vinyl and I will buy a copy he he.

I meant the Promo 98 sorry. It's okay thrash for me. The early demos sound awesome to me!!

Trinity in Black and the other Album ( don´t remeber the name yet) are OK Albums. I love the slowly guitar atmosphere on the 1st one. It´s a classic and truely underrated like the 1st Throne of Ahaz or The Black Album.

Mr. Hurricane, seeing that you've just heralded another re-issue with Barathrum I'm wondering if you've had any luck with this.

Don't get me wrong, it's totally your business of course, but do you have plans to release any other than previously available stuff? I'm just curious and wanna know if there's that few interesting newcomers to you to play safe with sticking mainly to the past. I mean with your background it should be an easy one to dig out a promising demo band and give it a deal, shouldn't it?

Of course we have plans to release stuff that has not been released before. There are many plans, so far we have:

- Kratornas 2nd album
- Nocturnal 2nd album
- Heretic 3rrd album
- Ketzer debut album
- Ungod new M-LP / next album
- Zarathustra new M-LP

Of course, I am always on the hunt for a next jewel, but whether they got already signed or aren't interested at all. 99% of the bands that want to send us their promos or send their samples are nothing but shit.

Nevertheless, I am pretty sure to get more "exclusive" stuff in the future. I am waiting for an answer from a pretty "big" band, but it is also "only" exclusive vinyl-license for their upcoming album.

Furthermore, it would be great to get a band in that "Dark Medieval Times" style - at least nothing boring, but catchy, evil and which consists a great atmosphere...

And btw, I do not want to do bullshit like "safe things", but rather release the stuff I want to have on vinyl the way I want it to have. Is it so difficult to get Wink ?
