Yeah, hopefully NOT Twisted Evil

Ideologically, aesthetically and musically (choice of chords and harmony etc) both are entirely compatible. I'm just surprised at there being so few bands that overtly combine the two. Der Blutharsch and Blood Axis have used elements of psychedelic rock and post punk...it's not so much of a leap of imagination to push that towards metal (and not just BM).

Yeah it's OK, thanks. A problem with a lot of these Drudkh/Agalloch style bands is that they miss the experimental side of neofolk, and just end up doing the whole expansive post-metal kinda thing (which I find boring haha).
I guess a neofolk band that incorporated metal elements would be more interesting than a metal band that incorporated neofolk elements.

To the time wasters (your time, not mine of course): play on! Cool

True. Agalloch have a good dose of Neofolk but like you said, not the experimental side.

Like I already mentioned, Dordeduh might interest you.

Maybe Menace Ruine is something for you. I believe they were already mentioned.

This is their first album. More on the metal side of things:

I don't think the Drudkh album was meant to be taken as neofolk album. It's just acoustic versions of their songs with different titles.

I had checked both Dordeduh and Menace Ruine but must have somehow listened to the wrong tracks. Just checked again and yeah, much more like it. Thanks for the suggestions.

The Dordeduh album is best listened to in its entirety.

you also should check Aiumeen Basoa, side project of members of Ilbeltz. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOFeEFS_iYU
female vocal included done well, is bonus to already a good album. lots of original neofolk in-between the whole album.

Agalloch, Drudkh? Confused some should enlarge their horizon...

That Dormant - Beneath the Mighty Oak album is pretty good and evenly splits the difference between neofolk and metal. Think it's the guy from Uvall / God is Myth, but I honestly can't remember.

Corrections House (Mike IX Williams, Scott Kelly et al) do a pretty good job at flirting with a lot of neofolk/martial industrial. I'd rate the LP they did last year quite highly.
