To those interested in sick shit, here's a short movie by Masami Akita (of Merzbow fame) where a beautiful woman performs Seppuku (vulgarily refered to as Harakiri) on herself. Soundtrack is by Merzbow and is quite disturbing!

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5
Part 6
Part 7
Part 8
Part 9
Part 10

You'll need HJSplit (it's a free program) to join the files into 1.

You're welcome to share your thoughts. Very Happy

Hmmmm, I noticed that these are being formally released on DVD by Unearthed Films... Personally I think the movies are kind of boring but the music is sweet.

Well, this short actually gave me goosebumps, so I'd rate it as above average definitely.

Anyway, this will only be of interest to people who get something out of watching a pretty woman eviscerating herself. It's very realistic imho. Smile

And actually it's a series of movies, not just 1 short.

Check it out:

I don't think it's the same series Craig. The guy from Merzbow directed and did soundtrack for the one I posted. The one you linked to is from a totally different director and doesn't mention any link to Lost Paradise or Masami Akita.

Besides, Seppuku was for the samurai, and Harakiri for regular folks. Smile

I'd welcome any corrections though, or links to other alike material. Smile

The DVD is a compilation of the few films under the title Harakiri

I had a few of those hari kiri short videos I got directly from Merzbow in the '90s. He helped out on production on some of them. I think LOST PARADISE was the only one he directed. I found them boring also so not sure I want to invest in the dvd set. It's amazing it's getting released considering how limited the appeal is.

Merzbow also did TRUE ROMANCE which was performance blood/gore splattered all over a bound-up woman on stage ala Hermann Nitsch. Use to have a video of that but gave it to someone.
