NO I wouldn't want to taint their classic black metal albums by lumping Slagry as bonus. Most people do not like this alubm at all.

I've got both albums on the Osmose DCD digipak thing, but I'd like them on vinyl. I'll certainly be getting this. I don't know anything about Slagry but I'm quite open-minded to Metal bands doing very different or experimental things, so I wouldn't mind getting that as well.

Actually Slagry was never intended to be a serious record and the band had no intention to make 3rd album at all. They recorded it to fullfill the record deal they had with Osmose. At that time Herve started to treat them with lawyers etc if they don't do this album. When he received the record he was mad that there was no metal at all and Franta and co decided, to add that black metal track to the record... (Which is black metal only in musical side... the text is taken from some old Czech commedy movie) with the intention to make Herve happy. Laughing Laughing Laughing

I know this, but whatever the intentions, the result was great Wink

I like the Double Album DigiCD cover. Will it be used for the DLP?

That's lame, but typical Osmose. These albums need to have their own release.

send a mass email to Osmose, maybe he'll change his mind.

I would definitely prefer to have them separate, and would participate in attempting to get Osmose to allow that, but it certainly wouldn't stop me from buying it. Very Happy

If you buy the rights you can whatever you want no? Or do you buy the rights under certain conditions?

Has Osmose given any particular reason why the two LPs should be released as a double? I think also Slagry deserves a proper release.

sztorm75, when you talked with the members did they all share Franta's opinion of not reissuing the demos in real formats? Do you think they could persuade Franta/do it without his permission. Do they understand the demand/enthusiasm for such a release?
Another question concerning the unreleased album:
Quote:
Of course, there are like 6-7 recorded songs after Jilemnice Occultist and some more but without vocals that will never see a light of day as well

Do you know are those tracks still saved in some form?
I've been wondering a lot why this Marcel guy did not steal all the tracks. Modern thiefs are lousy amateurs. Laughing

I have serious questions about the demand for such a release. Sure, on board like this Master's hammer gets lots of praise (and with reason, I worship them!) but atleast in Belgium few give a damn or even know Master's hammer. They don't appeal to the new generation and the old generation is thinning out.

There are hundreds of bands whose demos get released on cd/vinyl formats. I don't think Master's Hammer is that obscure that there would not be demand for it. What is demand is of course a whole another question, but I think pressing of 500 or 1000 copies should not last from here to eternity. I'm not a market analyst though.

Yosuke has licensed the records, not bought the rights, so I guess under the terms, whatever Osmose says goes.

This is a license deal with Osmose. Osmose still holds the rights to both albums.

PP has a deal on 250 x LPs so I'll probably do that for Slagry. Herve/Osmose gave his okay on the project. It'll be a simple jacket + vinyl release.

I didn't hear Master's Hammer until a couple years ago and I like them a lot. I think most people serious about metal pay attention when bands are constantly praised as classics. It could actually work.
