Cold-sounding and slow, layered (4/4) riffs probably pioneered by Dark Funeral and found in the work of, or brought to perfection by, several other BM acts, such as Arizmenda, Tenebrae in Perpetuum, etc., not necessarily using the same chord shapes but resulting in a similar dissonant wall of sound resembling actual organ chords. Real ‘atmospheric’ BM, if you will.

Good examples:
Tenebrae in Perpetuum https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUNEj4I5FAY&t=4m59s
Arizmenda https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3R_N20fXHg&t=1m41s (also the beginning of ‘Drowning in the Pain of Consciousness’)

Similar:
Múspellzheimr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHI9HesXf8c&t=9m03s

Any other good examples?

M8 I don't have a fucking clue what the fuck you're on about but in 'MIGHTY DGTHY OF WAR' by WITCH DESIRE the bass and guitar sounds a bit like an organ at some parts (like after 1:05), It's more noticeable on the second rip though because it's lower quality and only has one of the channels and is at a higher speed.

I think Kvist qualifies.

Before reading the actual post in this thread my original thought after seeing the thread title was "At the Blessed Grotto" from GBK's debut. This likely is not at all what the OP wanted, but it's what I have to contribute.

So if I'm understanding it right, you're looking for tremolo picked chords, in black metal Laughing

That’s not what he is looking for. Dude is asking for bands playing “open” minor chords on all 6 strings instead of riffing on power chords. The Legion had a lot of those riffs, especially on the demo and first album. Typical norsecore style.

Yep.

A good example from Draug:

Thanks for the recommendations; will check them out.

Keep of Kalessin’s “Through Times of War” is another good album with some very effective open minor chords.

The beginning of “Obliterator”, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-aRq1BOSoo

Or “As a shadow cast” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yedmsTWpzE&t=4m22s

I'd say that some bands in the orthodox BM scene in France have this kind of sound. Check the two last Aosoth alvum and also VI, which has a rly strange guitar sound that reminded me a organ very often. The first riff of "Il est trop tard pour rendre gloire. Ainsi la lumière sera changée en ombre de la mort" in particulary is very organ-like imo.
