Repulsion, first guitar break in radiation sickness and main riff in driven to insanity. Anyone else ever notice that Teitanblood quotes both those riffs verbatim on Infernal dance off of seven chalices? Have read many a review of that record and no one seems to mention it! Good tribute to the riff GODS

I've mentioned it many times if it's any consolation Wink

Then again, I don't write reviews.

Celtic Frost - Morbid Tales. This riff is heavy metal. This style always works. Always killer. Celtic Frost, Bathory, Sodom, Obituary, Carcass, Darkthrone, Order From Chaos, Ares Kingdom. It always works.

Bathory - Necromansy. This riff is black metal.

Bolt Thrower - World Eater. So good, so simple. The opposite of tekdeth. It's the riff equivalent of the opening of Terminator 2 with the tank treads slowly crushing the skulls.

Dismember - Override the Overture. These guys knew they were good. The opening lyrics were "Behold the overwhelming power. Trampled and fucking mangled by the hordes of terror!" and then your brain turned to mush. And then you played the album again as it was only half an hour long

For non-metal? The Stooges - Fun House.

The middle riff from Sodom's "Proselytism Real", when the song "get's going". Total sledgehammer to the skull!

The opening riff from Bolt Thrower's "Laid to Waste".

The crushing doomy riff from Beherit's "Salomon's Gate".

The main from from Holocaust's "Heavy Metal Mania".

Black Sabbath the track. I can't figure how many strings Tony Iommi destroys to record it. So simple and in one time so obscure and malign, probably it's it to rule them all.

Also come to mind the main riff of Nailed to Gold from death mongers Immolation, absolutely a manifesto of evil in music.

Can't forget Electric Wizard riffage display in all Come My Fanatics: here the sky falls and the earth tremble under his weight!

And what about the main riff spit out from Monolith of Death of Cannibal Corpse? A demonstration of brute force and how to dust a guitar.

One more to add to the Gelal / Pogrom party.

Favorite GBK track!

May as well add 3:44 onward for Swill of the Knaves

For me, one of the most pummeling riffs and songs ever is Hail of Bullets - Stalingrad. This fan video gives me chills:
