The return of Darkness and Evil...

BEHEXEN, the Finnish sovereign of pure Devilish Black Metal, are back 4 years after the critically acclaimed "Nightside Emanations" and reveal the title, tracklist and artwork of their forthcoming demonic new album, "The Poisonous Path".
Mixed and mastered by Tore Stjerna at Necromorbus Studio, "The Poisonous Path", the aptly named, is a raging beast brutally animated by a strong and massive production. The riffing is abrasive, the atmosphere is mephitic and the melodies are bewitching... BEHEXEN has never been so impressive and this new opus is, undoubtedly, their best effort to date !
This satanic assault contains 10 infernal offerings :
01. The Poisonous Path
02. The Wand Of Shadows
03. Cave Of The Dark Dreams
04. A Sword Of Promethean Fire
05. Umbra Luciferi
06. Tyrant Of Luminous Darkness
07. Chalice Of The Abyssal Water
08. Pentagram Of The Black Earth
09. Gallows Of Inversion
10. Rakkaudesta Saatanaan
Artwork was crafted by Kristiina Lehto
"The Poisonous Path" has been scheduled for release on May 27th through Debemur Morti Productions and will be available on CD, vinyl and digital edition.
More news to come very soon...

Cool cover, but I wish they'd get back to their old logo.

Can't wait to hear this, this has been one of my favourite Finnish groups for some time now- high expectations for this album.
Hail Behexen!

This.

Wake me up if this has the ice cold riffing of Rituale Satanum and Blessing and the split. The last album was way too Watainy for me.

Have seen that Watain reference I don't know where people get it from the album sounds nothing like Watain and lyrically the songs are so much better than the likes of fist of the satanist and Christ forever die

You can replace Watain with just more universal religious/contemporary Swedish/Necromorbus type sound if that makes you feel better. And that's what it is.

These song titles sound like Harry Potter books.

The Wand of Shadows... could that possibly be a reference to Lord Voldemort Surprised !
Actually, I'm curious as to what it will sound like.

nothing raw brutal and cold will ever beat BTBOS ferocity, is the best i've heard within the genre. the new orthodox bm style approach have mature lyrics and story telling sound, i have learned to like it thru the multitude of spins. the word 'abrasive' from the description is sounding good though!

Looking forward to this album. The band was great from the start through to and including the last releases. Changes and expansion in sound and delivery is a plus in my books.

Exactly. And while Nightside Emanations is a decent album, I think they were better as a no-frills, blasting black metal band.
