At least "Leper Messiah" is a complete shit song to my ears as well, but to each its own.

Of course. It's my favourite Metallica song.
About 'MT/ER'... I'd say "Danse Macabre" is the guilty one. "Nocturnal Fear" is nothing but a HYMN.

Not the biggest fan of "Master of Puppets" to begin with, some songs seem just somehow stretched and without any really outstanding moments.

"Ride the Lightning" and "Kill Em All" on the other hand: 9.5/10.

In my opinion, 'FtB' has "Escape" and 'KeA' has "Jump in the Fire", "Seek & Destroy" and "Anesthesia". So well, 1 and 3 fillers against 0 = 'MoP' gets my vote.

Most debut albums are the best releases - Kill Em All, Show No Mercy, Fistful of Metal, Killing Is My Business, March of the Saint, Bathory, Heavy Metal Maniac, See You In Hell, Burzum, etc,
while some bands second Lp's were even better - Iron Maiden's Killers, Sabbath's Paranoid, Artillery's Terror Squad, Evil Invaders, Black Metal, etc
but this is the first time I ever heard that the boring plodders on "M.O.P." were better than anything on Metallica's first 2 albums!

Close to flawless:

Vital Remains - Forever Underground
Vital Remains - Into Cold Darkness
Incantation - Mortal Throne Of Nazarene
Terrorizer - World Downfall
Demolition Hammer - Epidemic Of Violence
Demolition Hammer - Tortured Existence
Sadus - Chemical Exposure
Autopsy - Severed Survival

I can understand that some intros on the Vital Remains stuff can be boring to some, but seriously, which flaws could anyone find in albums like 'MToN' or 'World Downfall' (even though "Dead shall rise" is a kinda letdown track for me), 'Chemical Exposure' or... 'Severed Survival'?!?!?! Not joking, I'm pretty curious about this.

Calm down.

By saying "close to flawless" i mean that they are not 100% for me but extremely close. If you want to put a percentage on it, then i would say that all those albums are in the 97-99% range. So yeah, very close to flawless.

Yeah, sorry to disappoint you, but I fuckin' mean it. Anything on 'MoP' devastates that faster, more punkish and vicious side of Diamond Head of 'KeA' in my book. Just a matter of taste, I guess.

And of course a thread about great metal albums had to be ruined by the mandatory lists of shitty norsecore records by clueless 20yo Katharsis fanboys.

Fucking stupid, talentless, awful band for equally stupid listeners who discovered metal in 2001 and just can't get enough of mediocre 5th rate norsecore noise recorded in the woods.

Albums recorded with analog 4 track recorder in the woods = A LOT better than anything recorded at Necromorbus or any other modern digital "real" studio.
