- please fuckin stop doing covers of "Countess Bathory", "Deathcrush", "Gate Of Nanna", etc... & a long list of others -
- these songs have been covered WAY too many fuckin times & most likely, your band will NOT do anything special with the cover to make it stand out from the rest. besides, these bands have various other songs to choose from [ although i would suggest doing a cover of a song / band that hasnt been done to death ] -
- if you want to do a BURZUM, DARKTHRONE or MAYHEM cover, please shoot yourself in the head right now -
- although if a band was to pull off a GREAT cover of "Sempiternal Past / Presence View Sepulchrality" [ the best DARKTHRONE song ever ] or "Grave With A View", that would be fine. everything else, put the gun to your head & pull the fuckin trigger -
- if you want to do a BEHERIT cover, do NOT do "Gate Of Nanna" or "Sadomatic Rites" -
- there are WAY too many songs / bands out there that you can cover that havent been done yet. stop doing the same fuckin songs that have been done 100s of times - _________________ - [ ABHORER / http://abhorerundead.webs.com/ ] -

The skip button is awesome, however I usually turn the volume down on vinyl. Covers are horrible. Give me some original stuff!
If your gonna do it, at least suprise us, say Immolation doing the Fresh Prince of Bell Aire theme song. |

- yeah, i figured that someone would mention them -
- i dont think you can really compare the 71 BLASPHEMY covers with the 290+ BATHORY covers, 340+ BURZUM covers, 285+ DARKTHRONE covers or the 338+ MAYHEM covers -
- plus, BLASPHEMY doesnt have a large body of work to choose from. i think bands have covered "Atomic Nuclear Desolation" the most - _________________ - [ ABHORER / http://abhorerundead.webs.com/ ] -

covers are usually great for a live gig as a bonus or if they are recorded/done in a correct way (means own interpretation and important to me, not covered quite often). This is what we have done at least with our covers of Hobbs Angel of Death and Poison... _________________

Catamenia covering Satyricons song 'Fuel for Hatred'...
which came from...
Catamenia - Winternight Tragedies : 2005
Satyricon - Volcano : 2002
Was this really a choice song to cover ? Could anything possibly new even be done with a song merely three years old ? _________________ Bloodline Ascension Temple : https://soundcloud.com/bloodlineascensiontemple

I see no problem in that. I am often in the mood to cover anything no matter if it is old or new. If it is a good song which can give you some aggression (on stage) and you can give your own interpretation of it, too there is no problem with me. _________________

Playing live and covering the song would be cool, these boys put the song on their own new full length album at the time though.
Just strikes me as strange is all. I mean if you are a huge Satyricon fan it seems that to me covering and updating an old classic would make more sense. At least then some creative change could apply. _________________ Bloodline Ascension Temple : https://soundcloud.com/bloodlineascensiontemple
