What nonsense. Collectible? No. Let's keep things listenable. That's what Metal is for, not collecting. It sure as fucking shouldn't be restricted to rich eBay kids either! A person who is really into Metal shouldn't have to "lose" out cause they can't afford some jewbag's buy-it-now price.

I personally think an LP like Fallen Angel of Doom deserves to be unlimited.

If I owned a label, I wouldn't put out release after release and keep the number of special releases (boxes) to a minimum. I'd just release a small handful of titles and repress them constantly. That's just me though.

It costs money to repress and license. It's up to the band to keep their album in print. It's better for me to put money towards something new like the Ignivomous full length album.

Out of print doesn't automatically mean rare. I'm sure one can still find it NEW from different sources. Even for a reliable price perhaps.

I'd really like to know exactly how many copies Wild Rags pressed of the original LP and CD.

That's only because this is a legendary record. This is really a one-off excluding stupidly limited items.

I got 120GBP (around $240 at the time, about $180 now) for the DTL - celtic blood LP about a year after it's release. I never get tired of telling people that.

if every album was reissued because people missed out on it then there would be no point in trading.

What? This makes no sense. The main point of trading for me is getting rid of stuff I no longer have use for or if I think it's just crap. Also to obtain things I want, but it doesn't matter if it's OOP/rare or if I could just pick it up at the supermarket.

With respect to economic and legal issues of labels, no serious artist/musician wants something they worked hard on to be unavailable. Especially if there is still a demand for it. Anyone who says otherwise is a pretentious cunt.

If you really believe in what you do and feel that it has power, then you don't want to see it restricted to eBay rich kids, weekenders with high paying jobs and underground little boys.

I laugh at bands who say such garbage like "our music is an expression of REAL darkness and sickness!" and talk about destroying the world, yet want to keep themselves a secret to the social club known as "the underground". If you were really evil and wished to corrupt the world and "spread" darkness, evil, whatever and REALLY believed what you do has the ability to do that, then you don't limit what you do. If you do, then you're just a cartoon and an entertainer.

Sorry, I'm sleep deprived and ranting.

I think Wild Rags did something like 5000 copies of the red vinyl and who knows how many of the black vinyl (european press).

This really isn't the hardest thing to find. People are just too lazy and pay too much on ebay.
