I just posted this in the "Go Get It Now" thread!

Had no idea this was coming, but really looking forward to it. Loved the demo and LP. Killer band.

I haven't listened to the 7" yet, but here it is on bandcamp:

Wonder if this is the track from the aborted split with Spectral Voice?

First half of this track is too close to be a blatant Demilich rip-off... I know that it's their primary influence and the song itself is still cool. Their "newer" stuff on the full-length had more of own style.

The demo is cool. I need to check out the full length. Apparently he's playing with a full band live now?

Track came before the full length so it makes sense it carries a heavy dose of Demilich DNA. I didn't care for the non demo tracks much so I cetainly can't complain.

I think it's really cool, the mix is nearly perfect for what I wanted from it.

Does this guy's lead guitar ever not sound as digital as a keyboard being run through a Line 6 amp?

Finally listened to the two songs...killer, as expected. The Demilich reference is clearly there, but to me it's not a rip-off...just an obvious influence, but taking it to another place. Anyway, two great songs and I can't wait to spin the actual vinyl. Love the guitar sound on "Beneath The Crypts".

Yeah, it was intended for it. Spectral Voice were out of the songs at the time we were finishing the recording since they were already doing a split with Vastum. Bad timing and we didn't want to sit on this EP. I think it was a better idea for us to release it as a stand-alone 7" so its all good in the end seeing as the EP sales are doing so well. We also didn't do the split with Blood Incantation as intended because we felt that the song that was meant for that release needed to be on the 2nd album instead. We are going in a more eclectic direction and it made more sense for us to keep that track for later. Passage on the other hand is too much of an old, straight-forward song to fit with the proggy weirdness of BI. They're a great band.

Peavey 5150 & Marshall cab + doubler & delay automations actually. No line 6. I think the tone used here sounds very 80s-like (Tony MacAlpine - Maximum Security being the main reference point) rather than "digital" but obviously the phrasing is different from what he does. This is how a true lead guitar tone should sound like in my opinion.
