Send him a "Unpaid Item Reminder" through ebay. If he not pay anyway, "Unpaid item Strike"..

Yes, first you have to send him the "reminder," then you have to wait 8 days for a response. If he doesn't respond, he gets an unpaid item strike and you get your final value fee credit.

I just expirienced a situation where a seller just sold me an item he no longer even had. ( I bought approx 30 days ago)
His excuse was his wharehouse of over 1000 albums just confused him hence the miscommunication. Rolling Eyes

I only found out about this because I sent an email of inquiry through ebay which was ignored (guess he didn't want to tell me that he sold me a $118 item that he no longer had) So I wasted no time and made a paypal complaint which earned me a 100% refund with no refute rather quickly. I guess he responds to their inquiry emails. Wink

Was this guy waiting until it was too late to make a claim ? Why the hell wouldn't he answer a friendly inquiry ?
It appears only the serious nature of a paypal claim gained his attention for an item he never sent, never actually had to send, and never intended to inform me about ???

So needless to say I left negative feedback.
The crooked bastard now is trying to get me to change my feedback or some shit by accepting his confused state of inventory ?

How the fuck do you wait almost 30 days before looking to see if the item you listed on ebay was even in your possession to send ?

Never an end to the amazing ability people have to try and disguise bullshit as some legitimate mistake. Rolling Eyes

Haha, but seriously...is Paypal the only way you can do orders with your e-shop? Isn't there some other form of credit card processing system you can use?

In my experience in running a mailorder, direct credit card sales = easier charge back than Paypal.

If you use delivery confirmation you can't do a charge back with paypal. And "item significantly different than described" only applies to eBay purchases, where a photo or description of the item is public record.

The paypal guy told me on the phone "If you buy a record and receive a sock, as long as the package has delivery confirmation, as far as Paypal is concerned, you got a record."

I didn't want to resort to using the system, but 25 days passed, no response was made to the one email I sent on day 25 through ebay. After waiting 4 days for one I then filed a paypal email through paypal on the payment and almost instantly within a day I was refunded.

I wonder how long he thought was reasonable before letting me know the item was missing ? Is it unreasonable to expect shipping the parcel out at least within 7 days of payment/purchase ? Laughing
29 days passed without a word from the seller with him knowing full well at some early point that he never even had the item to send anyways, only a prodding from paypal initiated any kind of reaction.

In this case I am pleased that paypal is able to settle issues.
It is sellers like this guy that fuck everything up for everyone else.

This is bullshit. Some "wise" guys know that they can make a big order and then rip-off the label, like in this case with NWN!
Yeah, the buyer is banned but the damage is done. And then, only sending with registered/traceable mail will make things cost to much that it will sacrifice regular good customers.
Maybe Yosuke, open a new Paypal account for regular customers. It might help solve some issues-

Ok So you have clearly been stung here by "Antonia" Paypal seem to be a willing participant in stitching you up as well. so what do YOU do as a business operator?? What kind of options do you have now?? Take it on the chin and move on with the label, Hunt this guy down through various mean of disposal? Fuck Paypal off entirely and risk loosing customers who dont have any other means of paying for merch??

I'm just curious as to see whether there is a way to counteract against this type of shit happening or is it just a risk with being in business with Paypal? Either way Its a crappy system

Maybe require registered shipping for international orders and delivery confirmation for all domestic orders (especially over a certain $$$ amount)? International buyers would take a hit on shipping (+$10), but you could send most orders via regular first-class mail w/ registered. They would take longer, but fuck it.

Paypal is a necessary evil unless someone moves here to volunteer their time to pack records. There is no other good option to accept money without wasting a lot of time. I can't deal with money orders and cash anymore.

Well, you've chosen paypal and it has served you well. You loose a lot less time (and...time is money) and your label has been able to grow immensly to one of the biggest underground mailorders. Then you also have to live with the downsides of your decision...
A worldwide system like within Europe would be the ultimate: cost-free banktransfers. No dealing with assholes like this, and no fucking corporate pigs like Paypal making huge profits through scandalous fees.
