If we're talking about the same thing, it was released back in '96 maybe on No Fashion... or at least manufactured by them. the band denounced it as a bootleg when the NWN version was released.

I've got a copy of this, I think the one I have is a 2004 Karmageddon Media version. Not too shitty package for a bootleg, but you have to skip through the godawful Dark Fun-for-all tracks to get to the VON - an unforgivable sin. If anyone wants this PM me, as I have the NWN CD now...

Nah, thanks. From the few Von songs I heard - they're not really my taste, but I was still surprised that such a band did a split with gay funeral and I don't remember hearing about anything like that released in 2004.

As mentioned, they didn't "do" a split with Dark Funeral. It's a crummy bootleg that makes no sense.

There are so much better bands from that era and location than Dark Funeral. I never got the fuzz around them. Even their old works sound only "OK"

First 2 Dork Funeral are good- then they turned into a Cradle Of Filth tribute.

The Von thing was a bootleg by everyones favourite artist rip off Karmageddon media.

Their first MCD where they repeat "Satan" about 200 times in each song is not that bad...

Swedish label Hellspawn did a CD with Von songs which were floating around.

I believe those songs also wound up on a split CD with Dark Funeral which contained the first MCD tracks by Dark Funeral.

As far as I know No Fashion didn't have anything to do with this.

First Hellspawn.
Then Karmageddon.

The first Dark Funeral album is good, they actually had a real drummer on that one.

Their VON cover was just okay (like every single other Von cover)... NO ONE can capture the atmosphere that band created, even if they're playing the exact same notes.

Blackmoon (Dark Funeral, War, Necrophobic and so on) mentioned that in Nordic Vision in 1996, before he released it. That is the first demo, re-released on CD.

Only good thing about Black Funeral was their Necrolord cover art, blasphemous flyer and the VON cover they did, everything else is mediocre, generic rip off even when it first came out.

I liked the Dark Funeral MCD, this style was pretty uncommon when it came out.
