Thanks for the heads up! I stopped checking daily a month ago after this was initially announced for... last year? Glad I didn't miss this.

He announces his projects way too early considering how long they take to come out.

Kind of bummed the cover doesn't use the Louis Wain image. Maybe this reissue will drop the price of the original pressing enough to afford it.

Yeah, hopefully so. Stil just happy to finally have this on vinyl. It was only like $43 ppd to the US, a lot cheaper than the original goes for now. It's funny, I could have picked it up for under $100 a few times over the years, but that still seemed too pricey. Looking back I should have jumped at the chance.

Also, if anyone hasn't heard the new Ostara album from earlier this year, "Napoleonic Blues", I would highly recommend it. Older Ostara material is hit or miss, good songs but often strange full band arrangements, but the last 2 albums are both masterpieces of poppy neofolk perfection.

I've listened the new Ianva a few times since it came out and while at first I didn't know what to make of the darker, more straightforward approach, it eventually started to click just like La Mano Di Gloria. This new one has a more... apocalyptic atmosphere, perhaps? The previous albums were all about that Italian 40s pop noir/classical/dark cabaret, so I was naturally expecting more of that.

I mean this is good, or what do you think?

Yes. Good. I have really enjoyed their output, listening to their various releases regularly over the last few years. I enjoy "neo folk", and the teutonic strain has reigned for decades now with multitudes of solid releases/bands. I feel Ianva offer a refreshing perspective while still tapping into the primordial root of European heritage/experience. I have never been disappointed with any of their output, and this new album shows that they are more than capable of simultaneously switching gears and offering up fantastic folk.

So I have it in hands since more two months by now. It's way darker, more direct while still very well arranged. All influences are highly integrated, more than ever.
The double male vocals on the title track, with Italian singer Enrico Ruggeri, is an awesome idea. The album is fabulous but this song manages to surpass the rest.

This is the record of the year for me.

BTW they'll play live near Venice on February 10, 2018. I'll be there.

Tonight Rome is playing in Utrecht. I have an extra ticket to dispose of.
Whoever is willing to meet me in front of the venue before the show can buy it from me.
The show is sold out and the ticket can be yours for €20,- if you pm me.

^Nice, Beauty... might be worth getting, 30€ is still a pretty salty price imo.

Upcoming Laibach anthology book:

Looks like they are accepting submissions from anyone. Could be quite interesting or terrible.

The new Current 93 record, The Light Is Leaving Us All, is pretty good after a few initial listens, much better than the last few. The song Bright Dead Star feels like it could be on Sleep Has His House.
