Spike from DRI has cancer, which is the main reason they haven't done anything in a while. Also, Suicidal I heard is in the process of putting out a new album next year.

I'm pretty sure he just recently recovered. Hopefully they tour.

Metal-archives:

"D.R.I. were on hiatus from to 2006 to 2008, due to Spike Cassidy's diagnosed cancer. Today, Spike has been fully recovered, but according to their official website, D.R.I. still don't have plans to tour or record again in the near future."

Hope that info is dated. Witnessing a D.R.I.-gig would be really awesome. Im 100% sure their music does/would reach a whole new level live. Think about songs like Thrashard!

Great, just what we need, more watered down wigger hardcore/thrash. Man, Suicidal sucks!!!

New Destroyer 666... that's worth waiting for.

slaggin' the mighty Sucidal T.! what's this world coming to!

Destroyer 666, c'mon, they're "washed up", put em off to pasture with the rest of the "clone metal sheep" bands!
the first TWO Destroyer LP's kicked some major ass, but thats about it.
ok, some songs on "Phoenix Rising", but as whole, the LP was abit weak.

hey, dont get your blood boilin', this is just my opinion, cool?

fuk it, when's EXCEL coming back!

I'll second that!

VERMINOUS' "Impious Sacrilege" is one the best recent albums noone's seems to know about. I'd put it right alongside REPUGNANT's "Epitome of Darkness" in quality. Hell, maybe even better!!!

Are they even active?

Speaking of Venice bands, what's up with the mighty BEOWULF? They were supposed to be touring with The Accused and Dayglo Abortions not too long ago, but decided to not show up to Denver. Hopefully they'll be playing again soon.

They were going to play here in 06 before the cancer thing. But they did put up a mp3 of a song they recorded a couple years ago and it did not sound much like a crossover or thrash metal song at all. I prefer the first 2 ep's they did.

I think they broke up for good.

I thought Verminous was not around anymore? Their LP is great indeed.

DRI and Suicidal in 2009? Oh please, come on! Those bands were great 25 years ago...

Yea, they broke up. A Silver Mt. Zion is a full-time thing now. Check out Set Fire To Flames if you don't know of them already.

that godspeed band is total emo worship. my 'emo' friend from college loved them. i hated it, could never get into it.

is there certain stuff they have that is good or that is dark or something? I have yet to hear it. the stuff he played me was popular amongst the skinny emo kids wearing spike belts and hanging out at mccormicks in new brunswick. blechhh not my scene
