Buy the LP and wonder yourself? Laughing

That makes perfect sense, buy an album and wonder if the compact disc sounds better, come back to the internet to ask the same question... or buy a copy of the compact disc and then likely flip whatever version I don't want to keep for profit.

Otherwise, my apprehension was because I actually was listening to your opinion, I never once said that it was "always the definitive version" but I'd be lying if I said I "always give a shit about having a definitive version" but I apologize for expecting you to elaborate on something more than the dynamics/clarity after you saying:

Azaxul LP sounds quite bad compared to the CD. Not really sure what happened with it.

I recently checked out The Fleshly Tomb and am amazed! This album is so good! It has such a dark, eerie atmosphere. The vocals are straight from the bowels of hell and the music sounds like it was recorded deep in some cavernous dungeon. I really like the melodies and overall vibe of the album. 90's feel but modern at the same time.

Initially I downloaded the album but had to email the source and acquire an official copy of the CD. I'm glad I did because the entire presentation is excellent and really high quality. The disc arrived today actually. Nothing beats being able to admire the artwork and read the lyrics while listening.

For anyone interested, there are 2 new Azaxul songs available for download that will be on the upcoming album The Saints Impaled. They are both really good! Just click the link and scroll all the way down: http://misanthrophia-discos.blogspot.com/2014/10/misanthrophia-discos-releases.html

In regards to the Demoniac album, initially I wasn't into it but a few days went by and I put it on again and I'm digging it too. It's different than Azaxul but still good. Something about the melodies and dark atmosphere contained in both of these projects that just grabs me. Not to mention the ungodly vocals. Anyway, I decided to get a copy of that CD too. This one from NWN.

That's my two cents. I hope more people talk about these projects and also end up checking out the 2 new Azaxul songs!

I simply felt that the LP was lacking the power which the CD had. Obviously LP's can be fucked up by various reasons or no-good mastering.

Winter blood => New
Worshippers of the grim sepulchral moon => Rehearsal 11
Templar's penitence => Rehearsal 13
The saints impaled => New
The black emperor => Rehearsal 3
Glorious days are not forgotten => Rehearsal 7
In the moors (CD only) => Rehearsal 12
The temptation of the night's empress (CD only) => Rehearsal 11

The 2 tracks are indeed good. I'm glad some old Moonblood songs are visited, even if a recording with the 2 Moonblood members would have been better.
But anyways, there're still a lot of rehearsal tracks that deserve a better treat.

That's really cool you broke it down like that HÝrus! I have to admit that while I'm a fan of Moonblood, I'm not well versed enough in all of their material to have known which songs were from where. Thanks!

Whoa, whoa. These two are among the best Moonblood songs. Will be nice to hear studio recordings.

The mastering for vinyl was perfect (as usual), but the cutting engineer probably fucked up (as usual on GZ)...I never heard the finished LP, but I have to check it sometimes.

GZ tend to cut with a lower volume level and also reduce some of the sparkling treble and upper midrange...most cuttings of GZ sound like a tape copy of the master...the sound of their cuttings always depend on the mood of the engineer there...

Not sure whether to make a new thread or not so I'll just post this news here.

The new Azaxul album "The Saints Imapled" is officially out on CD! I ordered my copy earlier today straight from the source. More info here for those interested: http://misanthrophia-discos.blogspot.com/2014/10/misanthrophia-discos-releases.html?m=0

I'm really looking forward to hearing this!
