IVth Crusade for me too. Fucking perfect record.

Of course Realm of Chaos and War Master are on the same level and IBTINL just a smidge less perfect.

Seeing them live this summer was some fucking bucket list shit crossed off..

Best show I've ever been to was Bolt Thrower. When they came on stage and opened with The IV Crusade it was as if the entire audience changed. It was some Third Reich psychoacoustic magic. I felt like it was me or them crowd and I was going to make it out alive.

edit: yes I know BT are crusties. I'm referring to crowd control through frequency.

Greatest death metal band of all time. I refuse to pick a favorite, but I will say that their Peel Sessions EP is flat out incredible if you've never heard it.

this is a tough question. I'll go with ...for victory for nostalgic reasons, I saw them live as a wee young 'un when they were promoting it.
never really got into IVth crusade somehow, my other faves are mercenary and the last one I guess beside the criminally underrated peel sessions.

in my opinion one of the most respectable bands around, especially for keeping control of their own shit and for deciding not to release another album. trulyretaining their dignity. unlike e.g. all those countless black metal "comeback albums".

I picked For Victory but Realm of Chaos is my other favorite... impossible to pick just one given that their albums are so different! Still my favorite metal band after all these years.

I can only imagine how pissed off they were with the recent rainbow coloured reissues.

By the way, anyone can pick me up a tourshirt when they play Australia next month? Will compensate all costs and some extra, and can pick up a Euro shirt in return next time they play here.

I love BT, been listening to them for 20 odd years and never seen them live.

That's finally going to be remedied in 3 weeks when they kick off their Oz tour in Brisbane (supported by Portal and Cauldron Black Ram) can not wait!! Cool
