Its an argument with people that probably just don't like Emperor past the demo era anyways.

The Candlelight represses (at least for Anthems and In the Nightside) are scams. Granted they may be mastered for vinyl, but fitting all that stuff on 1 lp for each album is antithetical to making it sound better. the BoB versions sound way better just because they are 2LP. the first thing you'll easily notice is the lack of low end on the Candlelight. Its razor thin, and there wasn't much to be gin with, particularly on Anthems. Stupid mistake.

What? ITNE's original Candlelight vinyl release was as a single LP and it's by far the best sounding vinyl version of that album I've ever heard. I don't see why that would be drastically different today.

Come to think of it, none of these albums were initially pressed as double LPs, someone feel free to correct me if I'm forgetting something.

Miles Davis would record 30 minute tracks on a side of an LP and those records sound fucking great. Granted that was 40 years ago but hey, itís not impossible to have a 25 minute side sound good.

The single LP versions of Anthems and ITNE that were recently released sound fine.

Just cause it is Candlelight release doesn't mean it will sound better. There is no purity test here. just giving some advice to people out there that maybe considering to buy a version. the cheaper BoB 100% has more low end and clarity. more space on vinyl = this and this only. if you don't like physics, suck a dick and die.

I highly doubt that. I owned it and it sounded muddy and terrible with no clarity or definition. Low res shitty cover. Noisy GZ pressed vinyl. Even if this Candlelight reissue isn't perfect, it would have to be horrendous to be worse than the BoB 2LP version. I slept on the first issue of these, but will definitely pick up these represses.

I'm not talking about any kind of purity test, and I certainly don't think that a record will sound better just because Candlelight put it out. I'm just saying that, at least for ITNE, a single LP release is not necessarily a problem. The first press of the LP sounds better than any of the newer pressed CDs or LPs I've heard of this album, including BoB. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean represses will sound the same, but that wasn't my point anyway.

Not ordered from HHR before, do they use sturdy packaging for overseas orders?

Never had a problem before with their packing. Good, reliable label.
