Fuck the postage. 25.70 euros when I sent one LP, registered airmail, to US today. Registration costs only 1.9 euros more in Finland.
Are you people able to pack a vinyl in a way that the package weighs less than 500 grams?

Typically, I use LP mailers and put the plastic sleeve and record inside. For gatefolds and double LP albums, there's nothing anyone can do to make it less than 500 grams. Here in Canada, it costs over $30CDN to send out records over 500 grams to 1 kilogram anywhere in Europe and that's only by airmail.

If it's not a 2LP or super heavy vinyl it's no problem to pack a record safely with the weight staying slightly below 500 g. Vinyl taken out of the jacket. PVC sleeve. Extra cardboard. And there's even space for bubble wrap. There you go. Wink

shitmas is always slow here as well and if you add this to the already fucked up greek postal service you get the picture. things here are better complared to what it was some years back. This year though was somewhat better, no major delays, nothing more than usual!

I'm waiting for a CD from Australia that was mailed on the weekend of the 27th of December... should arrive soon I would think, although getting things from Australia tends to be torturously long.

I'm having dreams about putting stamps on the cover of the LP.
As a compromise, I'm going to combine minge's & s.charlach's advices.

How do you think, do I fit in 500 grams with one normal LP + normal carton box to send and two zines (about 150 gramss I guess) ? If not I'll send 2 separate packs.

ya know....the worse you package a lp , the more the post takes care of it. If it looks well packed then the post just throws it around.

Do not listen to this demented boat-humper. He`s had one too many puddings and they have most likely reached his brain. Twisted Evil

Never had problems getting a record under 500 grams. Unfortunately for me, the limit in Belgium is 350 grams. Now that's impossible unless for picture LP's with no cover.

Well, had an LP send from Holland to me registered in december. Hasn't arrived, the guy checked with his postal office and they simply told him it's lost. Nice, first lost package since 4 years or so. Luckily he has another copy of the LP so he'll be resending it.

Thatīs not so funny as you might think. Years ago I got an Celtic Frost
"Emperors Return" LP just like this. Just wrapped in some foil, adress directly
drawn on it. Strange enough it arrived in good condition and the face of the
postal worker who handled me the LP was priceless Wink
