Such a wonderful mix of complexity, brutality, and psychedelic weirdness, somehow making it catchy along the way. Too well-known to be underrated I suppose, but if you haven't listened to it in a while I suggest doing so. Odd this hasn't been reissued.

Amazing album. One of my all-time favorites. I have the original CD from way back, but if someone put out a nice vinyl reissue of it, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. The original vinyl pressings are a little too pricey for me.

The follow-up album was such a huge disappointment. I guess they didn't have any death metal weirdness left in them after the debut, but their abrupt shift to power metal is still baffling to me. Although, I probably should give that album another try since I've developed a taste for some power metal since then.

Great record indeed. I also own the original CD but would buy a good vinyl re-release.

I wouldn't say it was underrated, because it was a special/weird record, that introduced a lot of strange/experimental/technical ideas into a Swedish Death Metal context that could not be for everyone. But definitely needs to be mentioned alongside other Swedish bands such as Crypt of Kerberos or Liers in Wait.

Fabulous album!!! I prefer their demo's & Ep's though, "The Odious Reflection" and the "Ingrained" Ep were so unique and brutal!

Well, it has, a few years ago, as a golden disc, released in 2000 copies by Metal Mind from Poland. Great album, brilliant music, but the production suffers a bit.

Such a mindbending album. There is no band right now that would sound similar, not there is even need for it, just saying. I read in one of their old interviews something about paying praises to Iron Maiden, so that is why they abandoned their surreal death metal ideas and went for Maiden alike combination, result though was like it was totally another band. Prodigal feels like every riff is meaningful, no fillers nowhere. Same like Hobbs first album - ten out of ten. Reminds of At the gates guitarist who listened to classical music backwards for inspiring him doing those mental riffs for early At the gates.
