I guess he posted it as friends-only, cause I still don't see it.

Any mention of what happened?

People are welcome to stop by the NWN bunker to shop in person. I'll be there all day tomorrow from 7 am to 4 pm. I have to leave exactly at 4 pm so it'll be best if you show up in the AM.

It's not a CDF unless someone isn't kicked off - I'm protesting!
Even though I am not going and live on the other side of the country.

Oh I know how you feel there. I live in Florida, they are coming nowhere near me. I was gonna try to fly to see them in Brooklyn, but that bitch Irma fucked my finances up haha. It is what it is though, life goes on.

Heard they were one of the few bands not plagued by bad sound.

All the bands I came to see were great - Diocletian, Mortem, Ascended Dead, Pissgrave, and Brodequin. Brodequin and Ascended Dead especially killed it, imo.

I'm not really a fan, but definite props to Tsjuder for playing without a drummer and still being really tight.

Also, visiting the NWN enclave was fun as hell. Thanks Yosuke!!

Really looking forward to hearing Ceremony of Opposites in its entirety.

The idea is great, as that album is amazing. But what you get is a techno version of Ceremony. I get that the band has "changed direction" since their early stuff, but if you are playing shows based on an album then play the fucking album like we all remember it. Not some gay ass dance party version.

Seen them play Ceremony in its entirety twice now and its hard to digest.

Wait, for real? I was feeling certain they would stick with an actual black metal set. I was already considering leaving before Samael comes on, especially if the schedule ends up like last year (headliners starting at 1-2 AM)

Yep, unfortunately you will never see the Samael you wish you could. It honestly made me never want to see them live again so I can at least still appreciate the albums. Hearing Ceremony played like that made me cringe.

I am sure there is footage of the current style Samael playing Ceremony, Look up MDF 2016 set it was awful.

Yep, witnessed that set in person. It was indeed, atrocious. Samael lost their evil touch 2 decades ago. They couldn't recapture the magic of the early days if their lives depended on it. If they played material off Worship Him or Blood Ritual, they would've butchered those as well.

Watching the Demolition Hammer videos is great but that drummer does not the power or the speed of Vinny Daze. They need a more powerful dude behind that kit.

no way! He sounded great, can't be judged properly by videos taken on an iphone or whatever. Really remarkable how good Demolition Hammer were, always wary when an old thrash band comes back in fear that they've lost intensity but they were in top form. Must see!

The sound at CDF was dogshit the first day except for S.O.B. and Merciless, Mortem especially was fuckin WRECKED by it. They were one of the bands I most wanted to see but it kinda just sucked... only one guitar too for some reason. DH, Sadistic Intent and Nunslaughter were top for me!

I don't doubt don't the original members were in top form. Everything I have heard or seen about their reunion is on point. It's just a shame that Vinny Daze passed away and could not be apart of this, his skills and power were uncanny.

Yeah I was there as well. Unfortunately I already knew it was going to be a disappointment having seen them do this already.

I completely agree with what you said about them not being able to recapture the early days if their lives depended on it. I count myself lucky to have seen them in the 90's at a small venue in South Carolina before the drum machines and Vorph went completely emo goth baggy pants weirdo. Every show after that was increasingly worse to the point it is today.
