EULOGY (USA) The Essence / Dismal Official CD / LP Coming from DARK SYMPHONIES / THE CRYPT

DARK SYMPHONIES / THE CRYPT is honored to re-introduce the world to one of the most underrated death bands from the 90s Tampa, Florida based death metal act EULOGY. Forget paying the insane ebay prices anymore. We are please to offer the amazing 1993 EP THE ESSENCE, A long lost obscure gem of unique and brutal death metal once again, complete with the band's 1992 DISMAL Demo.

Quotes guitarist Jarrett Pritchard:

"I'm happy to tell you all that I've very nearly completed the remix and master of "The Essence" and "Dismal" for a re-release special edition that will land just in time for 25 years. It looks like it is coming out on a deluxe CD and Gatefold vinyl. Been collecting photos and everything we can find to include in this- So thankfully no more of these ridiculously priced throwback CDs. Things like this take time. It's not just turning knobs- it is a journey down a road none of us have walked for a long time- there is a fine line between presenting something as it always should have been and destroying a legacy. I've taken great care to not do the latter. I'm feeling very excited about all of this and will update soon. ( yes it's really happening )

One more thing- without the people who appreciate what we were doing there would be no point. I just want to say how much I genuinely appreciate the lasting interest and seemingly undying support. Truly. Thank you from all of us.

Jarrett"
CD Limited to 1000 copies worldwide and will feature the original cover artwork, tons of unpublished band photos, lyrics and new liner notes. Stay away from BOOTLEGS! Support the band and official releases!!

Also we will be pressing this release for the first time ever on vinyl, limited to 500 copies. 200 will be on black vinyl, 100 on blood red vinyl, 100 on crystal clear vinyl and 100 on translucent green (Band exclusive) vinyl. Presented in a 350 gram gatefold jacket, this amazing LP will come with a poster, 2 sided printed insert loaded with band photos, new liner notes and nostalgic memorabilia, and will feature all of the materials found in the upcoming CD version.

Coming later this year!

Sweet news! Just listened to Essence a while ago and thought what an uncanny act they were.

Sorry for disturbing the party, but why the fuck is are the "Burden of certainty" and "Lesson in fear" demo's not included in this release???? I rather would buy a bootleg with ALL the demo's instead of this to be honest...

Too bad, because Eulogy are indeed underrated, and yes I know that nobody is obligated to buy this release, but it;s something I have waiting to see the light for years....

I just got a response directly from Jarrett from the band which answers your question:

"The burden of certainty was not an official release they were rehearsal demos with no one from eulogy other than me involved.

As for lessons in fear different era different band. My concern here is the 90-94 version of the band. They are welcome to buy a bootleg as long as we don't find the bootlegger- we have dealt with more than one- Jason Mike and I can be... Unpleasant at times"

Fair enough: I can understand the decision from the point of view from Jarett...

BUT

From the point of few of the fans it can be dissappointing: both the demo's what are not included DO sound like Eulogy: it;s not they were a total "different" band that all of the sudden switched from Florida Dm to Gothic or something like that....Yes, maybe it was a different band on those recordings when it comes to the line up, music wise it's Eulogy! Nobody could tell if those recordings where made with a another line up or not because their style and sound are the same!
Therefore it's none other other than a logical conclusion that they had to be included on this release but alas...And I'm not even talking about the live recordings...

Oh well.....Of course there had to be someone to critize something about it and it had to be me, haha!

Response from Jarrett:

"Well of course it sounds like us. I wrote all of it arranged it with Clayton and Jason sang it. I'm not saying I won't ever release it but for the guys that made that band what it was with me I wanted to do this like this. On my eulogy soundcloud all of the material is there for free and I'm happy to share it with everyone"

the remixes are not too unlike the original, just some fixes but nothing overly different that will make it sound unlike the original.
