Got my old peaceville death/doom records out havent listened to them in a while, curious as to whether there are any new bands doing that sort of sound?
I did see a band from wales called the drowning doing that sort of style but there has to be others.

I play drums and write lyrics for a doom band with these as primary influences, as well as some funeral doom like Evoken and Esoteric. We're called October Flame. We're currently in the process of recording our full length, but here's a track from a split we did last year.

iirc Hooded Menace has cited those bands as an influence and though the sound isn't quite the same you can hear it, great band

Total early Peaceville vibe, exactly what you're looking for.

Shame so few people seemed to give a damn about them when they were around.
