Heh, I've had this moment too! In 2008 Sabbat played the short European tour and while waiting the venue open in Tampere, some girl asked what band from which country, and which style is playing tonight. Sabbat from Japan was clearly not what she wanted as stated with sour tone that "I only listen to Norwegian black metal!"

Sorry offtopic. We went to "see" Sabbat to Kuopio in late nineties. Venue, -Metal Bar Valhalla, didnt have any stage so the bands played at floor level in back corner. But when everyone at first row were atleast 20cm taller than Sabbat members, there werent any possible to see them.

Like when Gallhammer played in Finland. Couple tall, huge guys in the front row and nobody will see those tiny girls on stage. Laughing

"I don't listen to Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Testament, Exodus, Black Sabbath... that's too weak for me"

"If it's not satanic it’s not black metal"

Not as obvious as it may seem since it has been discussed and I bet some may agree even, even dedicated people who listen to this music since the 90s, maybe even here.

+1

Another one: "Rock music and therefore Metal, descends from early African-American music genres such as Blues and Jazz".

Yes, I love those too. And cars were invented by the ancient Sumerians because they discovered the wheel.

Most people would recommend flossing and brushing if the aftertaste of yesterday's dinner won't go away. Maybe some mouth wash. Give it a shot!

Lets start by keeping in mind that NSBM is supposed to be BM with retarded themes and not a separated genre but its so focused on imagery and ideology that it actually needs a different name.

A preoccupation with subtle differences in imagery and composition is what spurred the schism between heavy metal and first wave black metal, thrash metal and death metal, etc. It's not an isolated incident. And, once the distinction is made then the genre has the opportunity to flourish into something with its own musical identity.

Again, I'd argue that the only reason why NSBM is singled out over it is due to aversion to the subject matter. That's fine, no one has to like it. I simply think that it's a logically flawed, or dumb, criticism to make.

Aryan Aliens maybe?

Or one just has to simply accept... the following >

In the beginning
Back in nineteen fifty-five
Man didn't know about a rock 'n' roll show
And all that jive
The white man had the smoltz
The black man had the blues
No one knew what they was gonna do
But Tchaikovsky had the news
He said
Let there be sound
There was sound
Let there be light
There was light
Let there be drums
There was drums
Let there be guitar
There was guitar
Oh, Let there be rock
And it came to pass
That rock 'n' roll was born
All across the land every rockin' band
Was blowing up a storm
And the guitar man got famous
The businessman got rich
And in every bar there was a super star
With a seven year itch
There were fifteen million fingers
Learning how to play
And you…

Yeah, blues especially has nothing to do with the birth of metal music. Just ask Tony Iommi.

So let me get this straight. Black metal is not satanic!? What makes it black metal then? Is black metal singing about flowers, bread or bicycles? Or is it to worship the powers of darkness/ satan? Next up - Death metal is not about death. Its about getting a nice feeling in my tommy. Getting together with friends - and fit in. Getting out teen anger. Amazing!!! Or even better yet - NSBM is not about NS ideology .... Just think about that for a minute. We are living in a fascinating age where words does no longer mean what they once meant.
