You can further improve your style by applying more detail into the pictures. You always look at your own work through goggles that tend to show unfinished work as ready, at least in my own experience. Just keep applying more line etc. over the somewhat sterile blank white / colored bits to make the images fuller. If you're afraid of ruining the piece by making it too messy, just keep scanning it along the way.

Here's a new piece I am mostly/probably done with. This was an experiment in working in full color - what do you think?

Yeah, I sketched it in pencil, inked with black and blue markers and pens, then used Gimp (freeware Photoshop) to do the coloring. I don't have the art supplies to do full-on painting, so this was the next best thing.

This is very similar to an idea/picture in my head I wanted to do for an album cover.

Did you use a program for colouring in? There's something not quite right with the blood.

Not intentionally, but I noticed the same thing and thought it was a pretty nasty subtext. ...So, yeah, why not!

Another new one. I'm starting to do some real (non-digital) color work, this is the first.

This one was to try out some different styles - a more symmetrical, designed look, and using a lot of continuous lines for the detail instead of traditional shading.

Top one looks like some modern thrash band or something if you ask me.

Just the general style I think - thrash covers often use that horror comic look, which is what I was going for here. It takes on a more death metal look if you run it through a green filter:

But I worked so much on the colors that I hate to lose them. Very Happy

Hmm, still looks a bit cartoony to be full on death metal if you ask me but it admittedly does look less 'thrash' now! Razz

Thanks, I love slime monsters. Very Happy

I just did a concept sketch that I am in love with - it will either be badass or completely ridiculous-looking, but hopefully the former. I'll have it finished this weekend probably. It has a much more disturbing occult feel.
