Just bought the De mysteriis dom sathanas on that shitty Back on black....
first two songs have awful scratching sounds that definitly do not belong to the music...
all in all the sound is fucked up after a first listening
Does anyone have this LP and have the same problems??? |

I have the purple vinyl as well. Can't say I've noticed any scratching noise but I do feel like the sound is a bit more "digitalized" that on the first version. Anyone hear the same or is it just in my head? _________________ This is where he kills... |

ok, so it's just mine that is fucked up, because you would definitly hear these scratch sounds if you had them on your LP.
hmmm can't say if the sound is more digital. But my CD version still sounds cleaner. |

From what I recall they pressed it twice, first version 140gram vinyl purple and red and the second version 180g vinyl which supposed to sound better. |

I've got the purple vinyl and it scratches pretty bad actually. BOB sucks! |

I avoid Back On Black like the plague. If you can't have the original is better to have mp3's than their shitty re-issues (and releases). _________________ Good sellers/traders & Trade/sell/want list |

This thread is discouraging me a bit. I recently tried to play my old CD copy of DMDS in my stereo to find out it's been scratched up bad enough at this point it skips on the first couple tracks. I was thinking of replacing it by spending a bit extra on the vinyl version instead, however it seems as if the usual BOB represses are terrible and overpriced, i may have to skip or settle for another CD copy.
It's really disappointing a shitty label like BOB has these licenses to do vinyl repressing for so many classics, but don't even do them well and still end up costing about $20-25 US + shipping because the USD is so weak right now. |

Well this was also reissued on vinyl few years ago by Ancient Darkness and that was really good, 40-page booklet etc. That's the best version of this made, but of course it costs quite a lot now. |

I have the Back on Black Deathcrush gatefold red LP and I'm totally satisfied with it. Sounds good and the layout and vinyl look killer. That's the only release I have on that label though. What issues do you guys have with them? _________________ "Great men are like eagles, and build their nest on some lofty solitude." - Schopenhauer |

Are you certain it's not just the hiss that you often get with colored vinyls? I have the purple version and it sounds fine except for that. |

My copy sounds very good...remember that there is always the chance of having a defective album (usually if it was one of the last printed by the same master plate).
I do not have that many BOB releases but the few I have are quite good, so no complain. Maybe some pics are badly trasnfered to bigger size, but that's about it. Oh, by the way, the lyrics (in purple) in DMDS are too hard to read... _________________ Unbound celestial assassins... |
