A pretty good Christian band I found out about recently is Ordained Fate. Stone Vengeance are great too. It's pretty funny to see them now, with their do-rags and baseball caps playing Venom's Black Metal.
Something I've found out about American bands with Christian themes (even if they're not what you would call Christian bands) is that a lot of them seem to feature black members: the mentioned Stone Vengeance, Black Death, Hirax, Force, Iron Man and probably a bunch more that I don't remember right now.

Brainchild - Mindwarp is another really good one if you're into industrial metal with loads of samples from shows and films

If you included Mortification and Living Sacrifice, then ZAO should definitely have been on the list. The Splinter Shards the Birth of Separation and Where Blood and Fire Bring Rest are seminal Christian metal releases.

P.S. Another awesome release is Undeceived by Extol.

Excellent band, but Living Sacrifices Reborn blows them out of the water.

Paramaecium's A time to Mourn is the pinnacle of christian metal in my book.

Mortification especially Scrolls/PMA/Blood World era is great, I remember seeing them for the first time on death is just the beginning vol 1 interviewed in Steve Rowe's back garden, was quite refreshing at the time.

I remember liking Virgin Black quite a bit and I'm not sure if they were full on Jesus metal or not.

They are certainly up there. I really hope As the Story Grows will do a podcast with them.

Indeed they were, but they always came across as more spiritual rather than religious. I remember interviewing Samantha Escarbe for a webzine I was doing at the time, and she used the term "spiritual" when I asked her about the band's beliefs. I stopped following them after Elegant...and Dying, but always enjoyed their music. Apparently, they have a new album coming out next month.

Warlord are an all time favourite band. Winter Tears still give me chills, also Wytch Hazel although I think only one or two members are god botherers.
