WHOREDOM RIFE - ‘NID - Hymner Av Hat’ coming November 30th, 2018!

-Whoredom Rife was forged in silence during 2013 and 2014 in the outskirts of Nidaros, Norway. The band was founded by V. Einride and K.R. based on new ideas and old ideas dating back as far as the early nineties.
The idea behind the band is to breathe new life into the art form and lifestyle that they know as True Norwegian Black Metal. Since their debut EP was released at the end of 2016 by the Norwegian label Terratur Possessions, the band has been touring the world as a full band, adding to the fold Wraath(One Tail, Behexen), Bruthor(Perished) and Nosophoros(Mare, Ritual Death). Quickly after the critically acclaimed debut EP a debut LP was released, namely 'Dommedagskvad'. Getting raging reviews from all over, the band kept touring and doing shows up until this day, and with a third release already ready, 'NID - Hymner Av Hat', theres no holding back.
The record is filled to the brim with sulphurous, epic Black Metal as come to be expected from Whoredom Rife by this point, yet a more sinister approach than on previous works. Listen to track 4 'Hyllest' at this location;

https://soundcloud.com/terratvr-possessions/whoredom-rife-hyllest

Feel free to share!

For the third time in a row the band has worked closely with Jose Gabriel Alegría Sabogal and Kontamination Design with the artwork, this time loosely based on local history from their hometown Trondheim, Nidaros, and surrounding areas. More info will come. Expect another exquisite vinyl release!

...and speaking of! Enclosed you’ll find previews of represses of the two first vinyl releases, slightly updated.

Represses going out at the same date?

I shouldn't do it for money reasons but I think this will be my first purchase in months...

Me too but I won't revisit. There are so many great bands and so little time to listen to them that my patience for newer bands is extremely limited. You don't have to like everything even if you want to.

there are a whole bunch of meat and potatoes BM bands around, sometimes memorable, sometimes not.
I dont know what it is, but I need this band in my life.

Damn it. I just had ordered a few releases from them some days ago and now this. I'll have to bite the bullet and order again. As usual, that artwork from Jose Gabriel looks amazing. He has improved his skills significantly with the years.

I hear a strong Darkthrone influence but as it progressed, it moved away from that. I'm digging it.

There are more than a few DT influences on this album, as well as Immortal, Ulver and even Vemod. Classic and timeless Norwegian Black Metal.

First vocal line is a great tribute to Transylvanian Hunger. Got the first two releases, definitely won’t miss out on this one. Cool how even though you can pick out the influences, there’s still a Whoredom Rife sound that stands on its own.

I guess its like most regions and whatnot, that the sound/atmosphere is kind of similar.
And on the last bunch of Terratur releases the "Nidrosian" style releases (Darvaza, Ritual Death, even a bit of Mare) have a pretty similar sound, but retain a distinct style of their own. This is continuing with WR.

Speaking of which, that Darvaza EP was phenomenal. I havent listened to the others in a while, but may be the best of the "trilogy".
