Dark Side of the Spoon is another monster. Without the same Killing Joke vibes, maybe, but "Vex and Siolence" is hands down one of the bleakest songs I know. The Sphinctour videos + Fix documentary are sheer delirium, those tracks reach a new level, even though they don't reach the If You Didn't Feel Like... live greatness. Al's eyes going white during "The Fall", the definition of descent. What a band.

Animositisomina has some good stuff on it, but after that they lost it for me. Not so much into their faux thrash albums. The Surgical Meth Machine one was enjoyable, though.

Al's biography is great. I'm pretty sure one ex-girlfriend of mine left me bored to death due to many anecdotes about the man himself.

Nope.

Never got into Lard. I can't stand Jello Biafra's voice. RevCo never clicked for me, either. Even the good songs felt like they went nowhere.

I was surprised by how good that book was. I had my doubts he was biography worthy. Sure, he'd had crazy stories, but that doesn't not a good book make. Fortunately I was wrong.

I think it's definitely their best work.

I'd go for the title track. Total sludgy dirge greatness.

I prefer my Ministry slow, and I'm apparently not the only one.

The title track is my favourite by far, whenever I hear it I just want to grab a six pack and go for a drive on the highway.

Useless and the Bob Dylan cover are standouts as well.

I have a love/hate relationship with Ministry. I love their body of work but hate it when Al cancel's their Australian tours, it has happened to me twice now. At least I got to catch them on their festival tour in 2015.

In terms of live albums this one is has grown on me immensely in the past few years, covers most of the Twitch album plus some other stuff.

Gladly.

I can subscribe to pretty much everything Final Holocaust said.

The only flaw regarding "The Fall" is its length. It should've been made at least as long as "Scarecrow".

I also prefer "Just One Fix" 12'' over the album version.

No way Mind, Land of Rape and 69 are the best. I Have tried so many times to get into Filth Pig and Darker but just never can. The first from darker is the only thing I ever listen to from this period.

Amazing. Al is shitfaced yet still has perfect timing and sings perfectly.

Anyone know when the last time was that they played that song live? Has to be early 90's

One of my most hated albums of all time. When it came out, Ministry was my favorite band (Psalm 69 being the first metal album I ever bought). I must have listened to it over 100 times trying to convince myself it wasn't crap. The only decent songs are Reload and Dead Guy, and they aren't especially good. I don't know how anyone can like this album, let alone say it's one of Ministry's best.

Stellar album. Ministry's darkest. Hypnotic, heavy, top production.

on a sidenote, who would have believed it after reading Jourgensen book:

Might be my fave Ministry too. Either this or The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste.

Along with Sunshine Ward by Amebix and Cold World by Godflesh, the title track is among my go-to songs for those times when i have one of those "on the verge of a panic attack" hangovers. The Bob Dylan cover is great too.
