Seems like the previously mentioned split got scrapped, but a new one is coming;

SHINING TO RELEASE SPLIT 7" WITH MONUMENTUM

Shining will team up with Monumentum for a very special 7” split between your beloved death-squadron and the Italian legends.
On the split both bands deliver never-before-released material: the split'll include Shining’s bleak vision of an old Bay Laurel song and Monumentum's interpretation of PJ Harvey's dusky classic "The River".
The EP will be strictly limited to three hundreds copies and will be available from the Shining Legions store.
Pre-orders for the EP will start soon, with an expected release date in early November.

I'm not a fan of Shining, cover versions or 7'eps, but I do like PJ Harvey, Is This Desire? and Monumentum's rendition of Fade To Grey.

Is there another place to get this record? I would prefer to send money to a distro or maybe MONUMENTUM if they get copies, than to the shining bloke.

Quote:
"three drowned voices" is one of the different versions of PJ Harvey's melancholic classic that MMM has covered for "The River e.p.". Each of these is sung by a different vocalist and has different arrangements (the final format of this ep is not decided yet)
The "three drowned voices" version instead presents a mix of these vocals performances and will be released on the split 7" with swedish suicidal freaks SHINING (covering Bay Laurel's "pale colours") - Out late Decembre 2012 co-released by Avantgarde Music & Blood Music

Getting quite complicated, but I guess the most important thing is that I like the version. Conservative and Monumentum-ish.

Good to hear. Hopefully it's not limited to ridiculously low amount. I tend to boycott such releases and labels, and I want to buy this.

Well ... you can boycott if you like, but it will be quite limited.

We will have 125 copies. The other label will have 125 copies.

I just received and listened to the test pressing today, sounds great.

Because of holidays, we're pushing it back, and pre-order will come in the end of January. My guess is that they'll be able to ship about a week or two afterwards.

They're gonna come right alongside the Manii LP (the new project from the 2 original Manes guys who made "Under Ein Blodraud Maane"). I'm listening to the test pressing on that at this moment, and it sounds fucking awesome.

Just a heads up that the Shining/Monumentum 7" release will go to pre-order this Thursday (January 31st). We've only got 125 copies of it (from a run of 300) and will have it available in USA and Finland.

Musaeum Hermeticum? Mine doesn't look like that, but then again that doesn't say much yet.
