The Svatý Vincent self-titled LP is the logical conclusion of this sort of thing. He out-Abruptums Abruptum in 1990, and probably quite unintentionally, too.

True indeed.

Not really weird or bizarre but I always considered bands like Nastrond to be outsider Black Metal. Bands like Urfaust though are more inclusive and 'scene' friendly these days it seems.

Seconding stuff like Tarihan, Grausamkeit, Dawnfall, Nastrond, as well as newer style drum machine stuff like newer Lucifugum and Choronzon

Surprised nobody has mentioned more LLN stuff like Brenoritvrezorkre and some of those more recently released old recordings, but that stuff is kind of a joke these days as well

I'll add another German band, Fulgor:

Taking it old school for a second, we shouldn't forget Flames of Hell's strange, sloppy masterpiece "Fire and Steel".

And on the subject of Grausamkeit and related projects, I seem to recall that Corneus is pretty damned weird, with vocals provided by a dog on one tape.

Oh, and can't believe I forgot to mention The Meads of Asphodel until now!

How about Bråkin Bråk?

I bought that on a whim from Supernal when it came out. Absolutely no idea whether the CD is serious or not!

I used to have a Havohej CD, think it came as a freebie from HHR. Sounded like several vacuum cleaners competing for greatest suction.
