got to hang out with a kvlty old friend of mine at the Demoncy gig the other night and he raved to me all night about this band (because of my vest patched with all frinch bands). i'm familiar with the name/logo but that's it - i'd never checked them out and don't know where they fit in the franco bm canon - they don't seem to have been associated with any other bands i know or like but according to him they were les genoux de l'abeille.

anyone know their story or at least could recommend a starting point?

Never heard of them but just started their first album. It's some pretty damn good stuff. I like the visuals too

The first album was a passable Darkthrone imitation, good for a listen once every five years. I just actually played this one a few months ago so we'll meet again in 2022. Hard to honestly recommend this stuff, there's a thousand nehemahs per every Darkthrone album anyway...

From what i heard a new album was almost finished and it seems that a deal with avantgarde music were concluded. But finaly Corven decided to not releasing this album and to depart from the scene and at the same time nehemah disbanded.Morover the guitarist,Tony does not live in France anymore but in germany.

First 2 albuns have all my praise. Love the image, sound and atmosphere on them!
And also a great live band, so for me they are very underrated.

Nehmah is a great band in my opinion. It's true that they have taken a lot from Darkthrone, but I do think they have their own charm. Glad I picked up "Tomb of Thoughts 1992-2004" a few years ago.

This is too bad. Didn't really expect this band to still be active, but to hear that they were that close to a fourth album..
Sad

Light of a Dead Star was indeed a monument when it came out, I remember it was the early 00's when that album came out which much like the late 90's was an extremely shitty era for BM in general where there was very little quality raw BM at all with some exceptions (of course), but this style and this level of atmosphere was very hard to come by in those days...can still remember trading my way to this album..

This thread will make me dig out these albums again definitely..

Managed to pick up the Tomb of Thoughts 1992 - 2004 box in recent years and Light of a Dead Star is indeed good.

+1 to underrated band.
Thanks to TOR, i own that box too.
I see a lot of ppl emphasize their first album, but i think all of them are on par and pretty solid.
