I've been a huge Flagellator fan but I could never get into Judas Iscariot. Whats a good release to start with? |

I think Heaven In Flames is the best one. If you like Flagellator, you will probably enjoy "From Hateful Visions" off that record. You might try Dethroned, Conquered, and Forgotten as well... chances are you'll like his later, more well-produced stuff more than the early records, though those are good as well.
You should check out Debauchery - Dead Scream Symphony, also -- it's another side-project of his, a lot like Flagellator. _________________ Basar North America / Promethean Burn: http://www.thebasar.org/NorthAmerica |

In that order, yes. _________________ www.UnbornProductions.com

Heaven in Flames
Of Great Eternity
and
Distant in Solitary Night
Were all recorded in the same one year period, so they are pretty consistent. Heaven in Flames has the best use of keyboards in underground, lo-fi black metal, EVER.
I believe someone on this board* who knows Andrew has or either heard unreleased Judas Iscariot demo tracks.
I once downloaded what was supposed to be the unreleased "An Ancient Starry Sky" album, but the quality was BEYOND unlistenable. _________________ RSTLSS NRV Layout & Design |

I downloaded a copy of it and the sound quality's not too bad... the volume's low, but nothing a good turn of the knob won't fix. |

My faves are To Embrace the Corpses Bleeding and The Cold Earth Slept Below, but I actually only have a vinyl (bootleg I think) of this and it seems to be rerecorded on this. |

"Distant in Solitary Night" - Akhenaten at his peak. You also need "Under the Black Sun" - the live album as it has some of his best material. "Heaven In Flames" is a bit overrated. "The Cold Earth Slept Below" is primitive and darkthronish - I like it for what it is. There are some good songs here and there on other releases, but above all, get the first two that I recommended. _________________ "I've noticed a (certain) lack of demons lately and it worries me sick..." |
