What da FUUCK... the new cover sucks major cock!! I can think of 30 releases with covers that look the like this shit. I don't understand why labels don't do their best to find/buy the original cover artworks instead of bastardising releases with artwork like this one?!?!?!
If we had re-issued it, we would have used the original watercolor cover Wink
Unfortunately I was a bit too late. There are some situations where original cover art won't work, Like Crypt of Kerberos - World of Myths original Adipocere cover is garbage, so we had to use alternate cover art, but the new art is amazing! No photoshop, all oil paints and acrylics, totally old school!

I know dude, you should make another re-release and do this as DLP with Gods of The Pit demo on the second vinyl + the usual Die hard shit:)

Not this shit again...What if the people behind the band wanted this? Still better to use the old artwork?

Nucleart has done a lot of artwork for IN, so I'd assume this is what was wanted.
No arguments there, if the band wants different art, then who is the label to argue? I'm with you on that. It's just a matter of opinion is all. We just prefer to release our LPs with original artwork whenever possible and we make it one of our standards.

For the fans, old artwork (original art) has a bigger value. I am sure they used this one because old art is hard to be found... Lethal is gone and Michael Piech is serious businessman that has nothing to do with metal anymore and he can't help.

haha, thanks. We actually don't do pic LPs because I hate them, but 250 copies of the Root temple 2LP GF will be classic black wax, and 250 will be grey vinyl. Also will have a large poster 91 cm x 61 cm, patch, sticker, button and shirts. It should be pretty sweet! Very Happy

I understand the superiority of original artwork over redone photoshop horseshit, but in this case I don't really think the new artwork is a huge problem. I mean, the old cover looks like about a thousand other albums too.

I think the old CD had 2 different covers, The original with the water colored painting, and the repress which was a photo of a hand and a bloody cross I think.

New cover looks fine to me. I generally prefer to keep the old one but if there's going to be a new one for whatever reason (art not available, band wants different cover, etc.) then at least they get something decent. This fits the bill. It's not startlingly sick or original, but it's solid.

I have mp3 files of these album.
I would love to have it on vinyl.
I agree with the guys who don't like the new cover art.
This is a death masterpiece from the 90's.The cover art is
too modern for this.
This won't stop me from trying to buy this as long as the overall
release is of great quality.

This.

I'm so fed up with people always complaining about the artwork.
"Artwork looks like shit, I'll not buy it, no matter how the music sounds..."

I'd love to see the reactions if this would've been released by NWN like this for whatever reasons (no original artwork left, band wanted to change the artwork etc). I assume "great job Yosuke!!" would be the reaction from most of the bashers here.

EDIT - Just to make clear, this comment is not directed to darksymphonies, as I think he has done great job with his releases.

I'm pretty sure that I wasn't bashing, rather clearly mentioned that It's just a matter of opinion. I just prefer to release our LPs with original artwork whenever possible and we make it one of our standards.
