This band is too cult for vinyl and tapes. They need a whole new medium to record with, like say, blood sausage or something. |

Unfortunately the banks fucked me over, I will probably miss the colored. Hopefully this will sell at about the same rate as Blood of the Ancients did so I can get the regular edition in a couple weeks.
Where is it distro in North America? |

How does the compare musically to Blood of the Ancients (which I liked)? I only like that release, though. Normally wouldn't ask but with the absurd over-productivity of this project you've got to wonder about quality control. _________________ ANUNG UN RAMA, SANCTI AB JURA

The music for this album was done in late 2007 and the blood of the ancients was mid 2008.
This may not be your cup of tea.
If you like the blood of the ancients you would most likely like anything from 2008-present, as it has been the same people working with me (the next album an alignment of dead stars i feel is by far our strongest work to date).
This album (a pact with madness) is alot more murky and obscure - fitting for its subject matter/lyrics which work more like a book/story with chapters rather then song titles - each song continuing on from the last lyrically.
Like with every release i have a strong connection to the music but im well aware it may not be to everyones taste.
I would never release anything i did not feel strongly for or felt was empty or lacking.
The sample track on the myspace page is a good idea of the LP in general.
This is the only album i do not do any vocals on also. _________________ http://darkadversary.bigcartel.com/

I have to agree with the not liking (well most, I like some releases) anything previous to "Ancients". Looking forward to the next LP. |

I've liked the clip for as long as it's been on myspace. A bit different, pretty twisted atmosphere overall. Need to preorder soon...
I can't really understand the problem of "over-productivity" anymore. It did feel pretty weird at some point, but after I've thought about it... You do not need to buy and hear everything, that is for posers trying to collect every version of every release. The idea of an 'open channel' to express what one wants to, well, express (and every now and then a climax in the form of a full-length album) is totally fine to me. And I'm not speaking solely in favor of DtL of course, but generally of every artist not giving a fuck of 'standards' how many releases to put out each year. After all, we're talking about black metal, far from any standards of that kind... |
