OK, so here's one for the experts (i.e. not me):

What's the max time limit for each side of a 12" record? I have records that span something like 20-30 minutes per side or whatever, but it seems like record companies are currently putting the cap on at around 16 minute per side.

How about the max coverage for 7", 10" records?

DMM mastering will allow for a lot more per side. 20 to 25 max

Lacquer mastering will allow for about 17 to 18 minutes without losing fidelity.

Is there an advantage one has over the other?

Most of the vinyl pressing plants save Erika records seem to cap a limit at 18 per side.

All US plans dow the two step mastering process.

GZ does DMM. DMM is supposed to be louder but allows for less manipulation during the mastering stage. A lot of punks don't like the sound of DMM mastering because it sounds too close to the CDR master.
