I don't always have a chance to listen to all the stuff that comes in for the distro but I try to give most of it a listen if I can. On this last batch of stuff that came in I found two bands that are really great. The first is a DM band called Moder, I got "Ewiger Tod" on a trade and really enjoyed this album. I also got in some Gromm stuff which really is top notch black metal, and I am not a huge black metal fan but I thought this sounded worth noting. So what have other people stumbled across this way? _________________

Could be stuff that you found through any kind of trading, but just stuff that you heard for the first time through trades. _________________

Back in the early 90's I discovered a lot of incredibly good shit through trading, but those bands are all big names now: Beherit, Master's Hammer, Törr, Root, etc. I haven't traded in over a decade now, don't have the time or will to do so, but those were good times. It was a real pain in the ass to figure out how many demos you could record on each side of a 90min cassette without having songs cut out and shit, but it was all worth it when you received a package from the other side of the world full of tapes with dozens of demos. |
