Try Atomic Rooster's song death walks behind you! It's from 69 or 70 but it sounds really evil!

And of course like other people have said Witchcraft The 3rd album is less about love like firewood was. Oh and like someone else said Lucifers friend. I really want to to start a gang called lucifers friends and beat up priests hahahaha.

Danzig albums 1-3 + Thrall/ Demon Sweat Live and maybe a few of the tracks from 4p. Everything else by the man is redundant really, but these works certainly, for me, exemplify what's being sought here.

There is also stuff like 'evil prog' you may want to give a look such as Necronomicon, Nazgul and Shub Niggurath, but that might be going into a different genre entirely and not rock n' roll at all. If we start mentioning bands like that then really we're going into another world of music.

Sadly both Necronomicon and Nazgul's albums are hard to find. Shub Niggurath (French band - ask Dan aka Devoured Death about them as he's into a lot of that stuff).

Of course, I've bought Danzig debut long time ago and I worship that album. Timeless classic.

Here are my first two cm's on this board.

Necromandus (UK)
Pretty original stuff in my opinion. Must be famous for the fact that Tony Iommi played some solos/leads on their album Orexis of Death and produced it also.

The second band, namely Ritual, hails from the UK too. They did two full-lengths, which have been re-released recently. Their style leans a bit more to heavy/hard rock style. Catchy stuff, nevertheless.

This might be a long shot, but I'd give them a try, if, for example, Black Widow is your cup of tea. This Finnish band, the Orne, plays dark progressive rock in the British vein. They've released only one full-length, but the second one is in the works.

Shub Niggurath's "Les Morts Vont Vite (1986)" is a masterpiece of evil Zeuhl/Prog. This album, along with Univers Zero's "Heresy" are the darkest non-metal albums I own. http://www.mediafire.com/?kjozdizmzx3

Check out Venom "Welcome To Hell" It sounds like it could have been released in 1981.

Allow me to steer this thread in an entirely different direction and recommend the Meteors and the Cramps, some of their slower songs might do the job for ya. While both have that campy, 50's B Movie feel, some of the vibes both of the groups conjure up is legitimately evil. These two are pretty much the only bands I give a fuck about in the Psychobilly/Rockabilly genre.
