Thorsten and Andreas Reissdorf were co-founders of this death metal band from Uelzen (Germany). Both died in a car accident. This episode ended the history of the band. The debut Beyond the Veil was smooth and presented a keyboard structure while The Essence was stronger DM oriented. Both records are excellent. I read about them in the german metal mags at that time. Now I finally own both and I am proud of it. Check the band out.

The demo is even better, although more in style of the debut. I did an interview with those guys before the accident and had the vinyl somewhere around.
I still need the second album, I have seen is here and there for decent prices.
For those into Morgoth / Death / Pestilence. Great vox by the way!

I actually just got The Essence two weeks ago, fucking excellent album. I've been looking for the first album but haven't found it (for a decent price) yet. Preferably the reissue with the demo, but any version will do really.

Yep, one of the few great German DeathDoom bands. Their first record is a creepy slow monster. 2nd one suffered a bit from the production.

I'd really like to see that interview, any chance you could scan it up?

Torchure were one of the first Death Metal bands I got into, somewhat by chance. I bought "The Essence" at a second hand shop when I was about 13, along with Obituary's "Cause of Death". Sinister Seduction remains one of my favorite songs of all time; that keyboard break in the middle is perfect.

I have both albums on CD and especially like The Essence. The organ-like keys in "Sinister Seduction", as mentioned above, are really a great touch.

I remember seen The End putting a two CD reissue of Beyond the Veil in their preorder section a while ago (probably around a year at this point), with the second disc being their Traces demo. I never saw the CD in stock and could never find any more information about the reissue, so I wonder if it never happened or just sold out really quick. I'd love to hear the band's demos.

Yeah, I will do a compilation of my fanzine, it does have some really good and obscure interviews sorthy, like that one with Torchure.

I gave these guys a listen a while back and thought they were great, then forgot about them! Will make sure to get their stuff sometime.

Oh yes. I waited also for the reissue without results. Fortunately I found both records for regular prices. It is a shame, that such bands are forgotten by those re-editing every crap offered back in the golden era of death metal.

I bought beyond the veil from a friend earlier this year but I still haven't gotten around to pick it up. Do know the music from MP3 though.

This band rules! I picked up both their albums in a used shop here a couple years back for next to nothing. Needless to say, it was a great fucking day! Laughing
