rad! i actually meant for that post for the "favorite nwn! release" thread, but somehow managed to fuck it up.

I just got copies of the Hellias "Revenge of Hellias Demo 1987" CDs in stock. The CD also contains a live video from the same year. I'll press the demo on vinyl format later tihs year. The layout of this CD doesn't do the recording justice as it's the best material from Hellias. Rest assured I will make my vinyl version much better looking.
Check out track 4... It sounds like the chorus goes "Yosuke marches on."

apologies for slow reply....wanted to have a proper sit down with it before i responded and did so on my long and smelly bus ride into hellevue this morn.
it's fuckin' killer, man! lots of galloping guitars, cool changes, and well put together dual guitar work. not to mention the "OWW!" at the end of 'vampires'. shit made me laugh. the raw production suits the material well, too.
i'd love to be in a band like this. anybody in seattle who wants to get together with a kinda crappy, but kinda o.k. guitarist and likes 80s-ish thrash should get in touch. maybe we could start drawing more (good) metal shows to this lacking town.
speaking of which, i hope ares kingdom reschedules that show they cancelled last year. i was looking forward to seeing/hearing those guys do their thing especially at a bar and not some lame club. more than that though, i hope homeboy's lady is all better.
anyway, stoked for more hellias vinyl. thanks for making it happen, yosuke. |
